The Opportunity

As Senior Salesforce Administrator, you’ll play a vital role at TCM.  We are looking for a proactive individual that can help us continually improve and enhance our Salesforce platform, gathering requirements and feedback, designing scalable best practice solutions, and managing the product road map. Our Salesforce user experience is of great importance to TCM; therefore, the Senior Salesforce Administrator should enjoy all aspects of user management including support tickets, training, and designing solutions with user satisfaction as a priority.

We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform, who can understand both our current setup and our business objectives, in order to quickly identify areas of improvement. The Senior Salesforce Administrator should be comfortable with change management and governance, as well as communicating, prioritizing and managing all aspects of a Salesforce project. The ideal candidate will be happy liaising with stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to translate technical information into layman’s terms, clearly explaining design options and their potential impact.

 
What You’ll Do

This is a varied business facing role, with the following responsibilities:

  • All aspects of user and license management including new user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, OWD, sharing rules, etc.
  • Salesforce configuration changes, including (but not limited to): Flow, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions, custom settings, mobile administration, dashboards and reports.
  • Understanding of triggers/Apex code knowledge
  • Sandbox environment management
  • DevOps/release management experience
  • Identify and gather requirements, translating into best practice, scalable solutions with a focus on exceptional user experience
  • Identify unused or underutilized platform features
  • Create a platform roadmap and define priorities, liaising with stakeholders
  • Own the communication of any platform changes to end users and stakeholders
  • Data management to improve Salesforce data quality, implementing rules and automation as needed
  • Proactive system maintenance including Security Reviews, Release Updates, Health Check, and Optimizer
  • User support tickets
  • Monitor and improve user adoption
  • New user and ongoing user training

  • Management of integrated applications and third-party suppliers including (Celigo, Tableau, Docusign)
QualificationsWhat You’ll Bring
  • Strong Salesforce product knowledge and at least 5+ years of Salesforce Administration hands-on experience with [Sales Cloud]
  • Certified Salesforce Administrator
  • Additional Salesforce certifications: Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder. Etc.
  • Bachelor’s/Postgraduate degree, or professional qualification
  • A proactive attitude to platform enhancements
  • Design & implement scalable best practice solutions 
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
  • Translating requirements into technical solutions
  • Experience with change management and governance
  • Training end users and key stakeholders

  • Experience implementing Salesforce configuration changes

  • Proficiency with Data Loader and data management tools

  • Experience integrating Salesforce applications with 3rd party systems using REST and SOAP web service API (incl. exposure to event-based publisher/subscriber). Celigo experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Salesforce security settings (incl. permissions, roles, profiles, sharing) 
  • Ability to own projects and perform detailed analysis of client business requirements 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities 
  • Strong training skills including the ability to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Confident to train in person and virtual end users
  • Experience with change management and governance

What Success Looks Like

30-Days In: Foundational Knowledge & Initial Engagement

The first month is focused on immersion and understanding the people, processes, and platforms.

  • Complete Onboarding: Successfully complete all company and IT systems onboarding, gaining access to Salesforce, Celigo, Tableau, and other essential applications.
  • Meet Key Stakeholders: Schedule and conduct introductory meetings with department heads and key users in Sales, Marketing, and Service to understand their business processes, primary objectives, and current pain points with Salesforce.
  • Initial System Review: Perform a preliminary review of the current Salesforce Sales Cloud configuration, including user roles, profiles, sharing rules, and existing automations (Flows, assignment rules).
  • Handle User Support: Begin managing and resolving inbound user support tickets to gain firsthand insight into common challenges and daily operational needs

60-Days In: Taking Ownership & Delivering Value

The second month shifts from learning to active contribution and taking ownership of key responsibilities.

  • Own a Core Process: Take full ownership of a key administrative process, such as user and license management or the sandbox refresh schedule.
  • Deliver First Configuration Project: Manage a small-to-medium priority enhancement from start to finish: gather requirements from stakeholders, design a scalable solution, build it in a sandbox, and deploy it to production following established DevOps procedures.
  • Improve Data Quality: Identify a key area for data quality improvement and implement a validation rule, duplicate rule, or automation to address it.
  • Develop a Training Resource: Create or update one piece of technical documentation or a user training guide based on frequently asked questions or common issues observed during the first month.

90-Days In: Strategic Planning & Proactive Improvement

The third month focuses on leveraging the knowledge gained to drive strategic improvements and establish a long-term vision.

  • Platform Health Audit: Conduct a comprehensive audit of the Salesforce instance using tools like Salesforce Optimizer and Health Check. Present a summary of findings and initial recommendations to the IT leadership.
  • Develop a Platform Roadmap: Based on stakeholder interviews and system analysis, create a draft 6-month platform roadmap. This should outline and prioritize key projects, enhancements, and system maintenance initiatives.
  • Present Optimization Plan: Present a strategic roadmap to the hiring manager and key stakeholders, detailing proposed improvements to security, user experience, and process automation, along with their business impact.
  • Manage an Integration: Take ownership of monitoring and troubleshooting for one of the key integrated applications, such as Celigo or Docusign, ensuring data flows correctly between systems.

  • This position operates primarily in a professional office environment and requires regular use of computers, phones, and standard office equipment.
  • The role involves extended periods of sitting, computer work, and participation in meetings.
