Role Overview:

The SAP BRIM Convergent Invoicing (CI) Consultant will serve as a key member of the delivery team, providing deep functional expertise in SAP BRIM CI while partnering directly with clients to design, implement, and optimize billing solutions.

This role requires a balance of hands-on configuration, business advisory, and stakeholder engagement, with a strong focus on media and advertising monetization models, including Impression-Based Billing, campaign-driven revenue models, and high-volume event processing.

The consultant will play a critical role in guiding clients through solution design, requirements definition, and best-practice implementation, while supporting both strategic transformation initiatives and ongoing production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design & SAP BRIM CI Configuration

  • Lead the design and configuration of SAP Convergent Invoicing (CI) within the SAP BRIM ecosystem
  • Develop scalable billing solutions supporting:
    • Impression-Based Billing (CPM, CPC, CPA models)
    • Campaign-based and contract-driven billing structures
    • High-volume, event-based monetization
  • Configure and manage:
    • Billable Item (BIT) classification
    • Consumption Item (CIT) classification
    • Pricing, discounting, and taxation frameworks
  • Ensure proper integration and data flow across SAP SOM, CI, and FICA Media & Impression-Based Billing Expertise
  • Design and implement billing models aligned to media and advertising business processes, including:
    • Ad impressions, clicks, and engagement-based billing
    • Campaign flighting, pacing, and reconciliation
    • Makegoods, credits, and under delivery adjustments
  • Support high-volume event ingestion and aggregation to enable accurate invoicing at scale
  • Align billing outputs with financial and revenue recognition requirements

Client Advisory & Requirements Facilitation:

  • Advise clients on how SAP BRIM CI capabilities deliver business value through best practices
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions and solution workshops with business stakeholders
  • Assist in developing Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and functional designs
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications for technical teams (e.g., ABAP developers)
  • Facilitate alignment across finance, ad operations, sales, and IT teams

Documentation & Knowledge Development:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including:
    • Functional design documents (FDDs)
    • Configuration and process documentation
    • Billing workflows (campaign → impression → invoice)
    • Troubleshooting and operational runbooks
    • Training materials and user guides
  • Author best practices and thought leadership documentation for internal and client use

Training & End - User Enablement:

  • Develop and deliver training programs for business users, including finance, billing operations, and ad operations teams
  • Conduct workshops and hands-on sessions to ensure user adoption and process understanding
  • Provide ongoing support to end users to resolve issues and improve system utilization 

Testing Delivery & Quality Execution:

  • Support full lifecycle delivery, including:
    • System Integration Testing (SIT)
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Validate billing accuracy, pricing logic, and invoicing outputs
  • Ensure quality execution and successful delivery of project milestones 

Product Support & Continuous Improvement:

  • Support production environments by troubleshooting issues and ensuring billing accuracy and system stability
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement improvements to prevent recurring issues
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and backlog enhancements
  • Recommend and implement best practices to optimize performance and scalability

Strategic Contribution & Practice Development: 

  • Assist in developing:
    • Methodologies, tools, and accelerators
    • Points of view and thought leadership
  • Support creation of client roadmaps and digital transformation strategies leveraging SAP BRIM
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver differentiated solutions

Required Qualifications:

  • 8–12+ years of SAP functional experience, with strong focus on SAP BRIM / Convergent Invoicing
  • Proven expertise in:
    • SAP S/4HANA Convergent Invoicing (CI)
    • Integration across SOM, CI, and FICA
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • BIT classification
    • CIT classification
    • Pricing, discounting, and taxation configuration
  • Experience facilitating requirements discussions and leading workshops with business stakeholders
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to engage senior business and technology leader

Preferred Expertise:

  • Experience in media, advertising, or telecom industries
  • Strong background in:
    • Impression-Based Billing and campaign monetization
    • High-volume, event-based billing architectures
  • Familiarity with ad tech ecosystems (ad servers, campaign management platforms, DSPs/SSPs)
  • Experience with SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR)
  • Exposure to Salesforce CPQ or media sales platforms for upstream order capture
  • SAP certifications in BRIM, SOM, or CI
