About the Job:

LaunchDarkly is seeking a Senior SEO & GEO Marketing Manager to own and drive our organic discoverability strategy across traditional search and AI-powered discovery platforms. This role is responsible for how developer and technical audiences find, research, and engage with LaunchDarkly’s products and content—whether through search engines, AI-generated answers, or emerging coding agent experiences.

This is a senior individual contributor role on the Digital Marketing team, reporting to the Director of Digital Demand Generation. You will set the strategy for SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), manage execution across agency partners, freelance contributors, and internal stakeholders, and connect organic performance directly to inbound pipeline. The right candidate combines deep SEO knowledge, a strong point of view on how AI is reshaping content discovery, and the project management instincts to keep complex, cross-functional programs on track.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the execution and evolution of LaunchDarkly’s SEO and GEO strategy, improving discoverability, traffic quality, and inbound pipeline across search engines and large language model platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and AI coding agents.
  • Build and maintain a strategic roadmap for organic growth spanning content strategy, on-page optimization, site structure, link and citation building, and AI discovery.
  • Lead content and optimization workflows end-to-end—from identifying opportunities and developing briefs through publication, measurement, and iteration—coordinating across agency partners, freelance writers, and internal teams.
  • Partner with product marketing, content, web, and communications teams to translate business priorities into content programs that resonate with developers and technical decision-makers.
  • Evaluate how LaunchDarkly appears in AI-generated search results and LLM-powered experiences, and develop strategies to improve our visibility, accuracy, and authority in those environments.
  • Establish benchmarks for GEO and LLMO performance, and iterating as the space matures.
  • Use analytics platforms including GA4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Mixpanel, and Salesforce to assess performance, surface opportunities, and advise on the right metrics to track.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape, search algorithm changes, and emerging AI discovery trends to keep LaunchDarkly’s approach current and differentiated.
  • Provide editorial direction and hands-on writing or editing support when needed to ensure content quality and alignment with SEO and GEO objectives.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on organic priorities, keeping stakeholders informed and programs moving forward with minimal direction.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of B2B marketing experience with significant ownership of SEO strategy and execution for a developer product.
  • Experience marketing to developers or technical SaaS audiences is required, with a demonstrated understanding of how these audiences research, evaluate, and adopt products.
  • Proven track record building and scaling SEO programs that drive measurable business outcomes, including inbound leads and pipeline.
  • Familiarity with GEO, LLMO, or answer engine optimization approaches—or a strong SEO foundation and clear perspective on how to build toward AI discovery strategies.
  • Strong project management skills with experience coordinating agencies, freelancers, and cross-functional teams to deliver complex programs on time.
  • Proficiency with analytics and SEO tools including GA4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, and Mixpanel; working knowledge of CMS platforms.
  • Ability to write and edit clearly for technical audiences, even if content production is not the primary focus of the role.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions from incomplete or evolving information.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to translate organic search strategy into language that resonates with marketing, product, and executive audiences.
  • Comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-moving environment, setting your own priorities, and balancing strategic planning with day-to-day execution.
