Software Engineer, SRE

We are looking for a Software Engineer, SRE to serve as the guardian of our complex, web-scale ecosystem. You won't just be "managing" systems; you will be the architect of their health, ensuring they are monitored, automated, and designed to scale flawlessly. The ideal candidate is an SRE purist who believes that automation is the antidote to toil and that deep application knowledge is the key to operating large-scale systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design and independently implement features for scalable CI/CD systems enabling efficient and reliable delivery for multiple engineering teams.

  • Implement, automate, and optimize non-production infrastructure to improve developer productivity, reliability, and environment consistency.

  • Implement enhanced observability and monitoring solutions to proactively improve remote development/integration system health.

  • Contribute to and implement DevEx improvements including remote dev environments, build optimizations, and automation workflows.

  • Apply and advocate for infrastructure-as-code standards (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) for repeatable and secure deployments of remote environments.

  • Participate in and implement key explorations of emerging tools and technologies to evolve the platform (e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, service mesh, logging modernization).

  • Act as an advocate on DevOps best practices, contributing to strong engineering culture, quality, and ownership.

  • Address and resolve non-production issues, serving as a non-prod escalation point when necessary to ensure rapid resolution.

30-Day Accomplishments:

  • Understand Poshmark’s CI systems and assess gaps

  • Provide non-production integration environment (QA/Stage) support

  • Update/improve devops tooling documentation

60-Day Accomplishments:

  • Deliver improvements in CI stability and runtime performance.

  • Recommend improvements to reduce pipeline execution times.

  • Strengthen observability capabilities across non-production environments.

3+ Month Accomplishments:

  • Deliver meaningful improvements in CI stability and runtime performance.

  • Increase developer feedback velocity by reducing pipeline execution times.

  • Implement automation improvements to key platform workflows following established architecture and security standards.

12+ Month Accomplishments:

  • Mature the developer experience platform with measurable improvements in engineering throughput.

  • Contribute to the modernization of CI/CD tech stack with self-service capabilities.

  • Execute multi-environment reliability initiatives leading to reduced incidents.

  • Establish best practices and reusable frameworks adopted across teams.

Requirements:

  • 3–6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.

  • 3+ years engineering experience with a focus on DevOps or Platform Engineering.

  • Kubernetes expertise (workload orchestration and cluster-level debugging).

  • Experience contributing to the architecture and implementation of CI/CD systems at scale (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Spinnaker).

  • Hands-on experience with automation tools: Terraform, Helm, Ansible, etc.

  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, monitoring, and debugging.

  • Proficient in Python, Bash, Golang, or Ruby for automation.

  • Strong communication skills with a willingness to learn and influence team practices.

  • Track record of independently delivering impactful technical projects end-to-end.
