We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to design and scale the APIs and systems that power Foley’s partner ecosystem. You will build reliable, secure, and scalable integrations while helping evolve our platform, infrastructure, and engineering practices.

What you’ll doAPI & System Design
  • Design and build scalable APIs and integration workflows that power partner-facing products

  • Develop secure, reliable distributed systems with a focus on performance and resilience

Platform & Infrastructure
  • Contribute to our MuleSoft-based API platform and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker)

  • Improve system scalability, observability, and fault tolerance across services

Engineering Excellence
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows to increase speed and reliability

  • Write clean, testable code and contribute to best practices in system design and architecture

Collaboration & Impact
  • Partner with product, engineering, and external teams to deliver high-impact integrations

  • Support partner onboarding through stable, well-documented APIs and developer-friendly experiences

Who you are
  • Experience building APIs and distributed systems, with strong understanding of integration patterns

  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python, or similar, with the ability to choose the right tool for the problem

  • Strong system design fundamentals, including building scalable, fault-tolerant systems that can handle large volumes of data efficiently

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar)

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and automated testing

  • Experience using AI-assisted development techniques to improve code quality and productivity (e.g., agentic workflows, multi-agent systems, spec-driven development, or similar approaches)

Nice-to-haves
  • Experience with microservices architecture

  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus)

  • Experience building or supporting external-facing APIs or SaaS platforms

Location: This role is primarily remote (U.S.-based), with the expectation of occasional visits to our offices for team collaboration, training, or company events.
