Job Description

CyberArk, a Palo Alto Networks company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Machine Identity Security organization focused on the Control Plane & Data Platform powering our Machine Identity Cloud platform.

This team builds the core platform services, APIs, and data systems that help global enterprises manage, automate, and secure machine identities and certificate lifecycles at scale. The work spans distributed systems, backend services, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and modern full-stack application development.

We are looking for engineers who enjoy solving complex platform and scalability challenges, are comfortable contributing across the stack, and want to help shape the next generation of Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) capabilities.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and enhance scalable platform services supporting the Machine Identity Cloud platform.
  • Build and maintain distributed backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using technologies such as Golang, Java, Flink, PostgreSQL, and related cloud-native tooling.
  • Develop and maintain modern frontend applications and workflows using TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and MUI X.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions around scalability, resiliency, observability, API design, and platform evolution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across distributed cloud services and data-intensive systems.
  • Improve engineering workflows, tooling, testing, and operational best practices across the platform.
  • Collaborate closely with product, platform, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

    Qualifications

    What We’re Looking For

    • Software engineering experience building scalable backend systems and/or modern full-stack applications.
    • Strong backend and distributed systems fundamentals, with interest in data-intensive platform engineering.
    • Experience designing or contributing to APIs, cloud services, or distributed workflows.
    • Comfortable contributing across the stack, with primary strength in backend/platform engineering.
    • Experience with several of the following technologies:
      • Backend: Java, Golang, PostgreSQL, Flink
      • Frontend: TypeScript, React, GraphQL, MUI X
      • Data & Cloud: PostgreSQL, Snowflake, distributed pipelines, cloud-native infrastructure
    • Familiarity with observability, troubleshooting, and performance optimization in distributed systems environments.
    • Knowledge of x509, PKI, or certificate issuance protocols such as ACME or SCEP is a strong plus.
    • Strong communication skills, curiosity, and a collaborative engineering mindset.
    • Desire to learn quickly and develop deep expertise in machine identity security and cloud platform engineering.

    The salary range for this position is $155,000 – $194,000/year, plus discretionary bonus, which will be based on the employee’s performance and equity. Base pay may also vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits.
