About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer on 1-year contract to lead the way in DevOps automation and internal web tool development. You’ll play a key role in shaping our CI/CD pipelines, improving developer velocity, and building internal platforms that help our teams plan and operate more effectively.
This role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership — guiding a small distributed team (3–4 developers including overseas contractors) while staying close to the code.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines using Buildkite and Harness to improve build speed, reliability, and security.

  • Automate deployment workflows and integrate security scanning and post-deployment monitoring.

  • Drive developer productivity through automation and process improvements.

  • Architect and build an internal resource management tool for capacity planning, capitalization tracking, and program visibility.

  • Deliver features like org chart visualization, resource dashboards, and integrations with JIRA, Confluence, and Excel-based data sources.

  • Mentor developers, review code, and ensure best practices across DevOps and web projects.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align technical solutions with business and operational goals.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with strengths in DevOps and web development.

  • Expertise with CI/CD platforms (Buildkite, Harness) and AWS.

  • Strong skills in automation scripting (Python, Bash, or similar).

  • Experience building modern web apps using JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.

  • Background in monitoring, observability, and security integration.

  • Proven experience leading small teams or contractors in a technical capacity.

  • Clear, proactive communication and a collaborative mindset.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools.

  • Familiarity with resource or portfolio management systems.

  • Exposure to AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Cursor AI).

Why You’ll Love Working Here

You’ll help shape how we build, deploy, and manage software — directly impacting our engineering culture and operational efficiency. We move fast, encourage innovation, and value engineers who take ownership and make systems better every day.

The pay range for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at commencement of employment and is expected to be between USD$126,000-186,000/year.  However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including role, job-related knowledge, skills, relevant education and experience.

We’re committed to inclusivity and selecting the strongest candidate—no matter their background. Even if you don’t meet every listed qualification, we encourage you to apply. We’re happy to support growth in areas essential to the role. Interested in learning more about our workplace?
