Senior Software Engineer - Fraud Prevention and Client Verification
Be an Early Applicant
Lead development of identity, bank, income verification, and fraud detection systems. Own end-to-end features across frontend and backend, work with third-party providers, ensure secure handling of sensitive data, improve conversion and reliability, mentor engineers, and participate in on-call rotations.
Fraud Prevention and Client Verification
This team is the trust layer of the platform. Before we lend to anyone, your systems answer two questions: is this person who they say they are, and is the application legitimate? You'll own identity verification, bank-account verification, income verification, and fraud detection, working with a range of third-party risk and verification providers and turning their signals into decisions the rest of the origination process can rely on.
The work is detailed and adversarial. You'll model identity matching, handle re-verification flows, route verified applicants downstream, and minimize fraud while keeping friction low for our clients. You'll also work with some of the most sensitive data in the company, including personal identifiers, bank credentials, and addresses, so handling it securely is part of the everyday job.
You'll be a good fit if you like making sense of external data and turning it into reliable decisions, you think naturally about edge cases and abuse vectors, and you want to own a domain where both false positives and false negatives carry real cost.
As a S enior Software Engineer , you will be working on an innovative and scalable platform that originates personal loans. You will use your experience in software development to write clean, tested, and well-documented code, as well as provide peer code review and mentor other engineers on the team.
About the role
You will own meaningful product and technical initiatives end to end.
You will lead by example:
You will constantly look for leverage:
What You Need
Product Mindset: You start with the user and the business problem, not the solution. You understand what the end user is trying to accomplish, why it matters, and how success is measured before writing a line of code.
End-to-end Ownership: If you build it, you stay connected to it from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, fixes, and future improvements.
Pragmatic Approach: You value simple, durable solutions over clever ones. You know when to invest in long-term architecture and when to optimize for speed and learning.
Bias toward Action: You don't wait for perfect requirements or complete clarity. You break complex problems into smaller steps, ship incrementally, learn from real usage, and adjust quickly.
Clear, direct communication: You explain decisions, tradeoffs, and impact clearly to engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders. You contribute through demos, discussions, and collaboration, not just pull requests.
