We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of intelligent automation solutions focused on Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) in the healthcare industry, with specialization in computer vision-driven RPA. In this senior role, you will drive technical direction for CV-heavy automation, architect scalable solutions for desktop, document, and portal workflows, and serve as a subject matter expert in Python, OpenCV, image-based desktop automation (e.g., PyAutoGUI), Selenium, and healthcare compliance. You will mentor engineers across the team, contribute to engineering standards, and partner closely with operations and clinical stakeholders to transform complex manual workflows into reliable, compliant automated systems.

What You Will Do:

  • Computer Vision Leadership: Lead the design and long-term maintenance of OpenCV- and image-based automation frameworks for RCM workflows, including template matching, document understanding, and visual element detection at production scale.

  • Desktop & Image-Based RPA Architecture: Architect robust automations for legacy desktop, thick-client, and virtualized (e.g., Citrix/RDP) environments using image-based control (e.g., PyAutoGUI), with resilience to UI drift, resolution changes, and visual variability.

  • OCR & Document Intelligence: Drive the architecture for OCR and document-extraction pipelines against EOBs, remittance advice, correspondence, and payer documents, selecting appropriate engines and models for each use case.

  • Web Automation at Scale: Own complex Selenium-based automation for payer portals and EHR web interfaces as a secondary but critical capability of the platform.

  • Automation Leadership: Lead the design, implementation, and long-term maintenance of robust automation frameworks for RCM processes using Python, OpenCV, PyAutoGUI, and Selenium.

  • AI/ML Strategy: Drive the adoption and integration of AI/ML capabilities (e.g., OCR, NLP, predictive analytics) to significantly enhance automation quality and process outcomes.

  • System Integration: Own end-to-end integration of automation solutions with billing software, EHR systems, and healthcare web portals.

  • Compliance & Standards: Champion healthcare data privacy and security compliance (HIPAA, HITRUST) across all engineering activities and establish team-wide standards.

  • Documentation: Define documentation standards and ensure comprehensive technical documentation is maintained across all automation workflows.

  • Monitoring & Reliability: Establish monitoring, alerting, and optimization practices for automation accuracy, efficiency, and reliability at production scale — with specific attention to CV-based workflows that drift as target UIs change.

  • Architecture: Design resilient automation architectures that bridge legacy desktop systems, virtualized environments, and modern platforms.

  • Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with SMEs, operations, and clinical stakeholders to translate complex manual workflows into automated solutions.

  • Security: Own and enforce secure credential handling, logging, and audit trail practices in line with HITRUST/HIPAA requirements.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Architect and govern use of Azure services (e.g., Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Key Vault, Logic Apps) to support enterprise-scale automation.

  • Mentorship: Mentor Junior and Mid-Level Software Engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and technical guidance.

  • Expert proficiency in Python programming, including advanced patterns, performance optimization, and production-grade software design.

  • Deep, proven experience with OpenCV for image recognition, template matching, and document/image data extraction in production automation.

  • Significant hands-on experience with image-based desktop automation libraries (e.g., PyAutoGUI) and the ability to design resilient automations for applications with no API or DOM.

  • Proven experience with Selenium for complex browser-based automation.

  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare RCM workflows (e.g., billing, coding, claims, denial management).

  • Deep knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, and healthcare security best practices.

  • Exceptional analytical, debugging, and documentation skills.

  • Highly effective communicator; able to present technical decisions to non-technical audiences.

  • Proficiency with version control tools and branching strategies (e.g., Git).

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with significant focus on Python automation and a demonstrable concentration in computer vision-based RPA.

  • Ability to operate as a senior contributor from the start of contract engagement, with minimal ramp-up time.

  • Demonstrated ability to decompose highly complex problems, define solution architectures, and guide teams to deliver them, including in non-deterministic visual environments.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Advanced experience with OCR engines (e.g., Tesseract, PaddleOCR) or cloud document-intelligence services, including tuning and model selection.

  • Experience architecting automations inside Citrix, RDP, or other virtualized/remote environments where image-based control is required.

  • Extensive experience applying AI/ML tools such as NLP and predictive modeling to production automation use cases.

  • Extensive, proven experience leading automation of complex healthcare revenue cycle workflows including eligibility, claims processing, payments, and denials management.

  • Expert-level experience designing and integrating with third-party healthcare software ecosystems (EHR/EMR systems, billing platforms, web portals).

  • Strong familiarity with EHR/billing systems and healthcare web portals at an architectural level.

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Key Vault, App Services, Azure DevOps).

  • Advanced knowledge of logging, alerting, and observability tools.
