About the Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a seed stage venture backed startup currently in stealth, with a repeat founder (previous unicorn).

We are seeking a hardcore software engineer that loves to hack and build to work with a small group of incredibly talented engineers working on cutting edge AI infrastructure that will reshape how companies scale inference, from the application layer to the data center. This is a hybrid role that needs to be commutable to McLean, VA.

This will be an incredibly fulfilling and creative role, offering autonomy and self direction to work at speed on genuinely technical and interesting problems, with a strong need for you to help contribute and drive the direction of our technology.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior Software Engineer, located in McLean, VA, with an aim to meet in person a few days a week but primarily work remotely.

As an early stage engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions with a focus on distributed systems, GPU orchestration, capacity planning and resource scheduling, alongside building high performance distributed networking components.

We need a builder who thrives in ambiguity and loves shipping code that solves real problems.

You'll have significant autonomy to shape our technical direction while working on:

• Distributed systems for GPU orchestration and intelligent resource scheduling

• High-performance networking components that handle massive throughput at global scale

• Capacity planning and autoscaling systems that optimize cost and performance

• Core infrastructure that needs to be bulletproof from day one

Skills

• Hacker who loves to build

• Experience with Golang, Rust

• Understanding of infrastructure AWS, GCP, Kubernetes

• Nix experience

• (Ideally) hands-on experience with ML infrastructure (vLLM, GPU orchestration, model serving) or a strong desire to learn

• Strong adoption of AI tools for writing code, increasing personal productivity, and helping to rapidly build high quality software

• Deep love of cloud, infrastructure, distributed systems and building large scale systems

• An interest and understanding of the zeitgeist of the AI space: current models, practices, applications being built on AI models, and the emergent SOTA in research

• Ability to design scalable and efficient software architecture
