As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help build Alamo, the internal MES/ERP platform powering The American Housing Corporation’s design, real estate, manufacturing, operations, and supply chain workflows.

You will work across the product surface: from polished user-facing workflows in Next.js to durable backend services, database models, integrations, and operational tooling. You will build software that helps architects design and configure homes, helps real estate teams identify developable opportunities, and helps manufacturing teams turn designs into physical products.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who likes working close to the business, understands that excellent software is both technically rigorous and deeply practical, and wants to help build the operating system for a new kind of housing company.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Build fullstack product workflows for Alamo, our internal MES/ERP system.

  • Build software that helps architects design, configure, and refine homes from concept through production.

  • Build tools that help the real estate team evaluate land, identify developable opportunities, and understand project feasibility.

  • Design and implement production-grade frontend experiences using Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, and shadcn/ui.

  • Build backend services and APIs using NestJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Drizzle ORM, and shared Zod contracts.

  • Model complex operational domains including parts, inventory, production, purchasing, quality, work orders, real estate, design systems, and factory workflows.

  • Partner directly with manufacturing, supply chain, finance, design, real estate, and operations teams to turn messy real-world processes into clear, reliable software.

  • Own features from discovery through implementation, rollout, iteration, and long-term maintenance.

  • Help establish engineering patterns for a system that will scale from early internal tooling into mission-critical infrastructure.

  • Improve system reliability, observability, performance, security, and developer experience.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.

  • Strong experience building fullstack web applications in TypeScript.

  • Deep familiarity with React and modern frontend architecture.

  • Strong backend engineering fundamentals, including API design, data modeling, service boundaries, and production debugging.

  • Experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.

  • Track record of shipping complex product features in ambiguous environments.

  • Strong product judgment and ability to work closely with non-technical operators and stakeholders.

  • Care for craft: clean abstractions, thoughtful UI, robust tests, and maintainable systems.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.

  • Experience with manufacturing, ERP, MES, inventory, logistics, construction, or industrial software is a plus.

Additional Information

  • The company provides comprehensive benefits, PTO, and participation in company equity programs.

  • This is an in-person role in Austin, TX for builders who want to work closely with the people using the software every day.

  • No visa sponsorship.
