Develops embedded, desktop, web, autonomous, scripting, and utility applications; analyzes system requirements; troubleshoots software issues; collaborates with subject matter experts; prepares operating instructions; and ensures software standards are met.
SAIC is looking for a Software Engineer to support the Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) program at Point Mugu, California including support equipment and simulators.
Job Duties:
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software
- Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting
- End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software
- Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs
- Ensures software standards are met
- Bachelor's and five (5) years or more experience; master's degree and three (3) years or more experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- Experience with Wind River VxWorks, Green Hills Integrity
- Must have C# and C++ experience
- Must have SQL database development experience
- Must have the ability to understand and work with code developed by other developers
- Must have the ability to work independently
- Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; Interim clearance is required to start
Preferred Skills:
- Prefer EW, embedded systems and VxWorks experience but not mandatory
