Position: Senior Software Engineer 

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Duration: 6 Months

Client Data Protection and Availability Software Group develops software that centralizes, automates and accelerates data protection and availability across diverse computing and storage environments and protects critical business data in a fast, secure, and easy-to manage way. We’re looking for a hands-on, talented, and innovative engineer with experience designing and implementing products and product components to join the team. The visibility is very high and the work environment is fun, extremely challenging, and gives you a great sense of satisfaction! 

Must have skills: 

Hands on coding experience in C, C++ and debugging skills under Linux and Windows .

Ability to assist with design of medium to highly complex elements of protection software. 

Experience with OS and System programming in Linux and Windows .

Experience will File and I/O management as well as Storage management .

Hands on experience writing multi-threaded services on Linux/Windows. 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with geographically dispersed teams .

Major Pluses: 

Experience with Virtualization products especially VMWare 

Experience in programming with Golang 

Development of RESTful/SOAP based web services 

Good overall understanding of backup, recovery, snapshot, and replication technologies 

Backup software experience (e.g., NetBackup, Avamar, NetWorker, Veeam and Commvault) 

Proven ability to develop software in agile model
