Sr. Software Engineer is responsible for leading the development of ChenMed's next generation search engine. Using Microsoft technologies and tools like Solr and Elasticsearch, you'll develop, test, support and document our medical information search tool. You will play a lead role in the design, modification, development, and implementation of the search tool while working alongside a team of software developers and technical professionals.

• Defines site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality.

• Designs and develops user interfaces to Internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests.

• Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.

• Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.

• Creates multimedia applications by using authoring tools.

• Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.

• Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.

• Updates job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

• Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

• Supports and develops web application developers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree required.

• Possesses at least 3 years Enterprise development experience or 5 years as a web developer.

• Must have in-depth knowledge of Internet programming languages, web technologies, protocols, and tools including ASP.NET, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RTML, XML, Cross Browser Compatibility, MySQL, database design and administration, SSL, HTTPS, SVN

• Must be expert level with ASP.NET, C#.

• Must have experience with Solr Search or Elasticsearch Stack

• Experience developing data-driven applications utilizing significant relational database engines as part of the overall application architecture (experience with any or all of the following: MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server) ;

• Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree required.

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in software development and data architecture.

• Project management experience and proven abilities to facilitate multidisciplinary project teams in accomplishing strategic goals.

• Proven experience in Agile and RAD methodologies.

PAY RANGE:

The posted pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for this position. Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for a bonuses or commissions.
