Life at Plume

At Plume, we believe that technology isn't about moving faster, it's about making life’s moments better. Which is why we’ve built the world's first, and only, open and hardware-independent service delivery platform for smart homes, small businesses, enterprises, and beyond. Our SaaS platform uses WiFi, advanced AI, and machine learning to create the future of connected spaces—and human experiences—at massive scale.

We now deliver services to over 60 million locations globally and have managed over 3 billion devices on our platform. We’re expanding rapidly, pioneering a new category, and we achieved our Series F funding in just four years. Our customers include many of the world's largest Internet Service Providers (ISPs) who look to Plume to help them evolve their smart home offerings while gleaning insights from their own data.

With a bias for action and a love for being trailblazers, the team at Plume embodies a combination of relentless curiosity and imaginative innovation. We challenge ourselves to think in ways that other companies don't, work to do what should be done (rather than what can), and if we can’t do it exceptionally well, we don’t do it. It’s how we've assembled a team of world-class builders, thinkers, and doers. And it’s how we’re reinventing what’s possible every day.

About Plume

Plume is redefining home connectivity with the world’s most advanced cloud-managed WiFi platform. Our Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) enables service providers to deliver highly scalable, data-driven, and continuously evolving customer experiences.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Wireless QA Engineer to lead quality initiatives for our WiFi platform. This role goes beyond execution—you will drive test strategy, automation, and system-level validation for complex wireless systems.

What You’ll Do

- Own end-to-end QA strategy for WiFi features, including connectivity, performance, roaming, and stability.

- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for embedded and cloud-integrated wireless systems.

- Lead test automation efforts, improving coverage, scalability, and CI/CD integration.

- Validate 802.11 protocol behaviors (roaming, steering, QoS).

- Drive system-level and interoperability testing across devices and environments.

- Analyze and debug issues using logs, packet captures, and telemetry.

- Perform root cause analysis and ensure high-quality fixes.

- Develop test frameworks, tools, and infrastructure.

- Contribute to release readiness and quality metrics.

- Mentor junior QA engineers.

What You’ll Bring

- 5–8+ years of experience in wireless, embedded systems, or networking QA.

- Strong understanding of WiFi standards (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax).

- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, NAT, DHCP, DNS).

- Experience with packet analysis tools (Wireshark, tcpdump).

- Strong Python skills; C/C++ is a plus.

- Experience with test automation frameworks.

- Familiarity with Linux-based systems.

Nice to Have

- Experience with mesh WiFi systems

- Cloud-managed networking platforms

- CI/CD pipelines and test infrastructure

- Performance benchmarking

What Sets You Apart

- Systems thinking and proactive quality mindset

- Ability to work independently and influence teams

- Customer-first approach to quality

We are unable to offer sponsorship at this time. Total Compensation package would include: anticipated base compensation range of $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 + bonus + equity + benefits.  Benefits include: a 401k plan and a company match, basic life insurance plus unparalleled health, dental, vision and other benefits and perks.

An employee’s base salary and its position within the range may depend on a number of factors including job related knowledge, education, skills, experience and other business related considerations. Published ranges are provided in good faith at the time of posting.
