Senior Solutions Engineer

Location: Seattle, Los Angeles or San Francisoso /  Remote

Role overview

Nasuni is looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to serve as a trusted technical advisor to commercial customers and prospects across the Pacific Time Zone/Western Region. Partnering closely with Account Executives, you will lead technical discovery, solution design, demonstrations, architecture discussions, and proof-of-concept engagements for organizations evaluating how to modernize and protect their unstructured data.

You will translate complex customer requirements across file infrastructure, cloud, data protection, security, migration, and business continuity into scalable solutions built around the Nasuni platform.

This role is well suited for an experienced pre-sales professional who enjoys owning technically complex opportunities, communicating with audiences ranging from infrastructure architects to executives, and helping customers connect technology decisions to measurable business outcomes. It is not designed as a product-demo-only or post-sales implementation role.

Scope of the role

You will operate independently across complex commercial opportunities while partnering with Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Support, partners, and customer stakeholders.

You will own technical recommendations within your opportunities, identify architecture and implementation risks, establish technical validation plans, and help customers make informed decisions while maintaining clear ownership boundaries with post-sales teams.

What you'll do

  • Lead technical discovery with infrastructure, cloud, security, architecture, and business stakeholders to understand customer requirements, constraints, risks, and success criteria.
  • Design and communicate solutions for complex enterprise environments involving file data, cloud storage, migration, backup, disaster recovery, ransomware resilience, security, and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Deliver tailored demonstrations, workshops, and technical presentations for audiences ranging from practitioners and architects to senior technology executives.
  • Own technical evaluations and proof-of-concept engagements, including objectives, success criteria, architecture, execution, issue resolution, and final recommendations.
  • Translate Nasuni's technical capabilities into business value and help Account Executives advance opportunities through informed technical decision-making.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers, partners, and internal account teams throughout complex sales cycles.
  • Surface recurring customer requirements and field insights to Product, Engineering, and Marketing.
  • Contribute reusable technical content, enablement, demonstrations, and field best practices while mentoring other Solutions Engineers when appropriate.
  • Support technically complex RFI/RFP responses, proposals, and solution documentation.
  • Use AI-enabled tools appropriately to accelerate research, discovery synthesis, technical preparation, documentation, and customer communication while validating outputs and protecting confidential information.

Qualifications

Must-have

  • Demonstrated success in enterprise Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, technical pre-sales, or a closely related customer-facing infrastructure role.
  • Experience independently leading technical discovery and solution design for complex enterprise opportunities.
  • Experience planning and leading customer evaluations, pilots, or POCs with defined technical success criteria.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure concepts including file services/NAS, cloud infrastructure, identity, networking, security, backup, disaster recovery, or data migration.
  • Working knowledge of at least one major cloud ecosystem: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Ability to communicate technical architecture and business value effectively to architects, practitioners, and executives.
  • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel based on customer and business needs.

Preferred

  • Experience with enterprise file storage, unstructured data, hybrid cloud, NAS modernization, or large-scale data migration.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Active Directory, Linux, virtualization, hypervisors, or adjacent enterprise infrastructure technologies.
  • Experience supporting large, multi-site or technically complex enterprise customers.
  • Experience partnering with channel or technology partners.

Ideal

  • AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud certification.
  • Experience creating technical enablement, presentations, blogs, demonstrations, or other thought-leadership content.
  • Experience mentoring other Solutions Engineers.
  • Demonstrated use of AI-enabled workflows to improve technical sales productivity while maintaining rigorous human validation.

Experience guidelines

Strong candidates will typically bring 7+ years of relevant commercial technology experience, including approximately 4+ years in customer-facing solutions engineering, pre-sales, architecture, or technical consulting.
