Job Description:

The Senior Specialist, Procurement – New Product Development (NPD) supports the development and execution of new product initiatives from concept through commercialization. This role partners cross-functionally with procurement, quality, engineering, regulatory, planning, marketing, and external suppliers to ensure supply chain readiness for new product launches.  This role is responsible for executing source-to-contract procurement processes in alignment with business goals and industry best practices, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and contributing to supplier diversity and sustainability.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple projects while contributing to sourcing strategies, supplier coordination, and launch readiness activities

What you’ll do:Primary Responsibilities: 

1. NPD Supply Chain Execution

  • Support supply chain activities for white-label devices and internally manufactured devices from concept through launch.

  • Coordinate supply readiness timelines in partnership with the NPD Project Manager and cross-functional teams.

  • Track project milestones, risks, and deliverables to support on-time commercialization.

  • Assist in ensuring alignment between development timelines, cost targets, and supply capabilities.

2. Procurement Support & Sourcing Execution

  • Support sourcing initiatives for components, packaging, formulas, and finished goods.

  • Lead RFQs, supplier evaluations, cost comparisons, and data analysis.

  • Partner with the procurement leader to support cost negotiations and supplier onboarding activities.

  • Help track COGS throughout development and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Maintain Master Supply Agreements, other sourcing documentation, and supplier data.

3. Supplier Coordination & Management

  • Coordinate with suppliers to support development timelines and deliverables.

  • Monitor supplier progress on samples, validation builds, and production readiness.

  • Assist with supplier qualification documentation and onboarding processes.

  • Manage supplier performance by tracking and reviewing defined metrics throughout both new product development and ongoing operations to ensure consistent quality, delivery, and compliance.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams (engineering, quality, regulatory, planning, marketing) to ensure alignment on supply requirements.

  • Support material readiness, tooling timelines, and validation build coordination.

  • Assist in ensuring required documentation (quality, regulatory, testing) is completed on schedule.

5. Commercialization & Launch Support

  • Support launch readiness activities, including initial builds, inventory planning, and supply coordination.

  • Assist with demand alignment and production ramp-up planning.

  • Help transition projects from development to operations with proper documentation and handoffs.

6. Risk Identification & Mitigation
•    Identify potential supply risks (e.g., lead times, sourcing constraints, capacity issues) and escalate as needed.
•    Support development of contingency plans and alternative sourcing options.
•    Maintain risk logs and track mitigation actions.

7. Financial & Data Support

  • Assist in building and maintaining cost models, including COGS, MOQs, and tooling costs.

  • Track development-related supply expenses and support budget alignment.

  • Provide data analysis to support decision-making and cost optimization.

8. Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to improving supply chain processes within the NPD lifecycle.

  • Support documentation of lessons learned and best practices.

  • Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost, and speed to market.

9. Other Duties

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or product development support roles.

  • Experience supporting cross-functional projects and working with suppliers.

  • Specific and tactical expertise in procurement processes, including source-to-contract planning and cost assessment, ensuring strategic and informed procurement decisions.

  • Industry experience in medical device and with regulated products with familiarity tailoring processes to meet category needs.

  • Capacity and experience assisting with collaborative supplier relationships, aligning procurement activities with business needs.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.

  • Proficiency in data analysis, databases (Snowflake) and Microsoft Excel (or similar tools).

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in consumer products, cosmetics, medical devices, or related industries.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite), project management tools, or PLM systems.

​Base Pay: $93,500 - $115,000 + bonus

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of HydraFacial’s total rewards package for our employees.
