About Marvell

Marvell’s semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities.

At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.

Your Team, Your Impact

You will join Marvell’s Coherent DSP team, a high-impact group developing state-of-the-art mixed-signal analog and digital signal processing semiconductor solutions for optical interfaces using coherent technology. Our portfolio features industry-leading platforms—such as Canopus, Deneb, Orion, next-generation 1.6T platforms and beyond —that enable ultra-high-performance optical connectivity for AI clusters, cloud infrastructure and telecom networks. In this role, you’ll work at the heart of the scale-out semiconductor DSP revolution: directly enabling the massive growth in data, optical links and AI infrastructure through world-class products from Marvell, connecting hyperscale data centers across distances of 20km to 1000km, and further.

Why Marvell?
• You’ll be part of a global semiconductor leader whose technologies power the data infrastructure of the future—including AI factory, cloud, and telecom networks.
• We’re innovating real hardware and solutions, ranging from scale-up within an equipment rack to scale-across, connecting the continent. This is not incremental: it’s about enabling massive connectivity leveraging high-speed optics and next-gen digital signal processing (DSP) technology at the system level.
• At Marvell you’ll enjoy a culture of collaboration, transparency and inclusion, where you’re empowered to make a meaningful impact.
• We believe in continuous growth: you’ll gain exposure to analog, digital, firmware, optical, system-level expertise and customer-facing engagements

What You Can Expect

  • Assist customers in designing networking or optical subsystem products that integrate Marvell coherent DSP solutions.
  • Partner with customers to optimize and validate Marvell’s coherent DSP platforms in real-world optical systems.
  • Debug challenging optical, analog and signal-processing problems in customer implementations—with a hands-on mindset.
  • Capture and translate customer requirements and feature requests into actionable deliverables.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams (analog, digital, DSP algorithm, firmware, system, optical) to remove engineering obstacles and accelerate customer success.
  • Support characterization and validation of high-speed electro-optical components such as Mach-Zehnder modulators, ICRs and lasers.
  • Create compelling product documentation, application notes and technical reports that empower customers and internal teams alike.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to customers on Marvell’s coherent DSP solutions—becoming a trusted advisor and champion for our technology.
  • Operate from our Santa Clara site, five days a week, collaborating face-to-face with peers, leveraging our lab infrastructure and maintaining the high-energy, innovation-driven culture that defines Marvell.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant professional experience, OR a Master’s and/or PhD in those fields with 3+ years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of digital signal processing and its application in optical communications.
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed electro-optical components and characterization techniques (for example, modulators, ICRs, lasers).
  • Proficiency in programming/analysis languages and tools such as Python, C/C++, MATLAB.
  • Excellent analytical, data-analysis and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams.

Preferred (nice-to-haves):

  • Experience with Ethernet and/or OTN protocols.
  • Knowledge of coherent transceiver module design.
  • Experience with DSP offline processing and system-level optical networking hardware.
