Drive execution of complex programs in Software Systems, managing timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communication to achieve strategic goals.
Zoox is on an ambitious journey to develop a full-stack autonomous mobility solution for our cities. As a Senior/Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) for Core Systems, you will play a critical role, working cross-functionally with engineering leaders across Software, Hardware, Vehicle Engineering, and Product to translate our corporate strategy into tactical, detailed roadmaps and drive effective execution across all stages of our growth.
This role is nested within the Software Systems Technical Program Management organization, which supports the entire Software Systems domain, spanning from Core Robot Middleware and Infrastructure to overall Software Infrastructure, Simulations, and Product Security.
In this role, you will:
- Manage large, complex programs within Software Systems, requiring close cooperation with the Autonomy, Firmware, and Product Software organizations.
- Work directly with engineering teams to develop comprehensive project schedules, define clear milestones, identify and mitigate risks, estimate budgets, and clearly communicate ongoing progress to all stakeholders.
- Lead experts across diverse technologies, guiding them to deliver highly demanded features and programs.
- Ensure timely, efficient, and predictable delivery of programs, making your role crucial to our overall success.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent job experience
- At least 4 years of experience in engineering program management.
- Deep familiarity with software development processes & proficiency in tools or processes required to manage complex projects (i.e. Gantt charts, risk matrices, Smartsheet, JIRA, etc.)
- Strong track record of managing complex cross-functional projects.
- An ability to keep the big picture in focus and to provide clear, well-structured, and concise communications tailored to each appropriate audience.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Familiarity with embedded systems and ECU architecture in complex, safety-critical systems (e.g., robots, automobiles, aircraft, spacecraft).
- Experience with similar technology that tightly integrates software, firmware, and custom hardware.
- Experience with reliability engineering or advanced systems engineering fields.
- Experience with large-scale cloud computing environments relevant to autonomous systems.
- Experience leveraging advanced AI tools to significantly improve the efficiency of program execution and delivery.
