About the Role:

This Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager is critical for ensuring efficient and effective procurement processes, managing supplier relationships, and contributing to the overall success of Crusoe Cloud services. 

This role will also be procuring Cloud related, hardware, materials, and services, primarily in support of Cloud Network Engineering and Corporate Departments related to on-going operational maintenance and mission critical domestic and international deployment for Crusoe’s Cloud and AI infrastructure. This role will solicit requests for quotes and proposals, analyze quotations received, and recommend supplier awards, under the direction of the Cloud Strategic Sourcing Manager (SSM) or their delegate. 

The ideal candidate will bring a mix of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a strong background in procurement and supply chain management.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Establish strong relationships with key business partners to understand business objectives

  • Conduct opportunity assessments to identify and prioritize efforts across categories and subcategories

  • Manage development, implementation, and alignment of regional sourcing strategies

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts (e.g. processes, use of systems and tools)

  • Develop supplier networks for key spend categories; promoting cooperative relationships with suppliers and ensuring that all suppliers are treated in a professional, ethical and fair manner

  • Lead complex processes for Requests for Information, Requests for Proposal

  • Build inventory management programs to support sales and distribution locations

  • Manage a team of people responsible for the replenishment of products within assigned categories

  • Own the relationship and run OEM//vendor/VARS management strategies 

  • Conduct KPIs and QBRs quarterly with OEMs 

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Must be based in San Francisco, CA with the ability to come into the office

  • Required travel of about 20%

  • 5-10+ years of relevant supply chain experience, ideally with 7+ years in procurement

  • 5+ years recent experience in Data Center, Server Component Purchasing, Commodity Sourcing

  • 5-10+ years of people management experience

  • Experience participating on or leading cross-functional teams working on Strategic Sourcing activities such as RFQ’s, Supplier Selection, Risk Management, Supplier Relationship Management, and Risk Assessment

  • Experience working with OEMs/Vendors in China 

  • Demonstrated understanding of logistics planning and optimization and the ability to lead an organization in lowering transportation costs and improving customer service, leveraging the logistic experts as needed

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, organize, and manage SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning), scheduling and optimize linkages across a complex and various environments with distributed locations and extensive manpower requirements 

  • Understanding of strategic sourcing in a discrete part assembly environment

  • Understanding supplier businesses of discrete parts and commodities and the ability to find and exploit creative partnering opportunities and create value for organizations

  • Experience conducting analyses and developing and implementing recommendations/action plans based on those analyses

  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and leadership skills

  • Change agent with ability to influence at all levels of an organization

  • Effective communication/presentation skills

  • Successful application of problem-solving methodology and innovative solution development

  • Experience in a fast paced or start up work environment

  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills

Compensation Range: $190K - $220K
