From vaccine shipments to fresh food, from humanitarian supplies to e-commerce shipments, Boeing Converted Freighters keep connecting the world and improving people's lives by enabling continued access to critical goods. The selected candidate will collaborate with a global team to convert existing passenger aircraft into state-of-the-art freighters and to deliver innovative solutions to complex technical problems.

Position Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and document structural requirements and component designs
- Use 3-D Computer Aided Design tools (CATIA V5) and 2D drawings to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
- Perform, integrate and analyze tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
- Manage supplier development, test and production activities and coordinate with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
- Support in-service products by investigating failures and recommending improvements
- Develop concepts for future product designs and modification to existing products to meet projected requirements
- Assist in the evaluation of each conversion for impact to certification and conduct activities to show compliance to FAA regulations
- Evaluate proposed expansions of fleet eligible for BCF conversion
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
- 5+ years experience with 3D computer aided design (CAD) on aerospace development programs
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- 5+ Years experience performing structural design for commercial aviation or similar industry
- 5+ years experience in material strengths and properties, design criteria, loading conditions, and processes
- Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences including executives and external customers
- Demonstrated interest in continuous personal learning and development
- A track record of discovering new opportunities and solutions for problems by looking beyond current practices and using innovative thinking
- A history of leading and upholding a proactive safety culture and of embracing first-time quality and continuous improvement as a way of life
- History of demonstrated achievement and skill working with Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) projects
- Experience with metallic wide-body 7-series airplanes, especially 737, 767 and their derivatives
- Experience with freighter airplanes, particularly freighter conversions
- Knowledge and familiarity with Boeing Commercial Airplanes drawings, processes, and specifications
