Job Description

The Senior System Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting our IT infrastructure. They work closely with various cross-functional teams to ensure optimal system performance, security and reliability, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.

P03-Senior (Career Level): Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Typically requires 4 -7 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administering, installing, and troubleshooting a variety of operating systems
  • Performing systems maintenance tasks, such as system back-up, recovery, and file maintenance
  • Scheduling, installing, and testing system software upgrades
  • Configuring software and resolving technical problems
  • Monitoring system performance and ensuring the reliability and availability of critical services
  • Managing user accounts, permissions and access controls in accordance with security policies
  • Developing and maintaining documentation for system configurations, processes and procedures
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support application deployment and troubleshooting
  • Providing mentorship to junior system administrators
  • Staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance system performance
  • Assisting in developing and enforcing IT policies and procedures

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in IT (system, network, or database administration)
  • Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows, or MacOS
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (Intune, JAMF, Ansible, etc)
  • Working knowledge of virtualization and containers (VMware, Proxmox, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) i.e. Terraform, etc.
  • Knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
  • Must be able to come into the office as needed
