As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will lead cross-functional teams to define and deliver integrated product features across Vehicle, Autonomy, and Operations segments while managing the entire product lifecycle.
The End-to-End (E2E) Feature and Homologation team brings systems engineering focus and discipline to Zoox mobility-as-a-service deployment and operations. We are systems engineers working with key business stakeholders to define and deliver remarkable product capabilities that span across Vehicle, Autonomy, and Operations segments. We partner with the systems teams from each domain by leveraging their deep technical knowledge, implementation expertise, and validation techniques to deliver a fully verified product capability. The result is E2E ownership of a world class mobility service.
Systems Engineers are the champions of their feature domains, which cut across Vehicle, Autonomy, and Operations segments of the Zoox mobility service. You will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle for these feature domains and will forge strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Product, Safety, Operations, Legal, etc.) and segment-specific systems engineering departments to deliver: design solutions, systems engineering documentation, multi-quarter capability plans, verification plans, and debug support.
In This Role, You Will:
- Work closely with Product, Safety, Operations, and Legal to define integrated product features. Use data and simulations to support the proposal. Deliver presentations that convey the business need, the problem statement, and the proposed solution.
- Lead the cross-functional team to deliver the integrated features, shepherding these features throughout the entire V cycle by working closely with implementation and validation teams.
- Create and maintain feature roadmaps spanning: Hardware, Software, Operations, IT, Safety, Manufacturing, and Validation Teams.
- Create and maintain high-quality and verifiable feature requirements, decomposing input from stakeholders to drive clarity and precision for systems specifications.
- Create and maintain MBSE models for new features and use the model to identify additional requirements and edge cases.
- Lead feature-level triage with cross-functional stakeholders for bugs or reported issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 11 years of engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
- Proven ability to design complex systems integrating multiple hardware and software components
- Strong track record of producing high-quality technical documentation (e.g., context diagrams, requirements decomposition, presentations)
- Experience with systems simulation and modeling
- Strong understanding of hardware and software development lifecycles
- Demonstrated leadership, organization, and communication skills
Bonus Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.
- Experience designing fail-safe and fault-tolerant systems.
- Experience with software development and architecture principles
- Experience with ECUs, electrical integration, and log analysis
- Experience with requirements management tools (Polarion, DOORS, JAMA, etc)
- Experience with MBSE tools (Cameo, Magicdraw, Catia Magic, etc)
