About the Firm

We are representing a rapidly growing boutique CPA practice that provides comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services to individuals and businesses. The firm operates in a fully paperless environment and places a strong emphasis on technology, efficiency, and long-term client relationships.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join a growing team and take on a high-impact, multifaceted role. This is not a review-only position — the right candidate will be involved in client acquisition, relationship management, high-complexity return preparation and review, tax planning, and team leadership. The firm is looking for someone who can operate at a senior level independently while also contributing to the growth of the practice and the development of junior staff.

This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who is client-oriented, analytically driven, and ready to take on meaningful ownership within a growing firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client acquisition efforts, converting prospective clients into active engagements and managing onboarding from start to finish

  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for an established and growing book of individual and business clients, coordinating with their outside advisors as needed

  • Prepare and review high-complexity tax returns for individuals and businesses, including fiduciary returns where applicable

  • Drive proactive tax planning conversations focused on client tax savings and ongoing opportunities

  • Research complex tax issues and develop well-reasoned resolutions

  • Manage project workflow and prioritize across multiple engagements simultaneously

  • Supervise and develop a staff of 2–4 team members, including staffing assignments and day-to-day oversight

  • Apply strong data analytics and problem-solving skills to client situations with an organized, methodical approach

Requirements
  • 5+ years of public accounting experience in individual and business taxation

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation a plus

  • CPA or EA preferred

  • Prior experience managing client engagements and leading staff

  • Fiduciary taxation experience is a plus

  • Proficiency with ProFx or Access Tax preferred; experience with Word, Excel, QuickBooks (online and desktop), Adobe Pro, CFS Payroll, and BNA strongly preferred

  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively across a team

Benefits
  • Strong base and discretionary bonus, commensurate with experience

  • Medical Benefits

  • 401(k) with up to 4% salary match (eligibility after 1 year)

  • Fully paperless, technology-forward work environment

  • Opportunity for long-term growth within a rapidly expanding practice
