Shape the technology behind every query

What if your product decisions could influence the foundation behind every search experience Coveo delivers? As a Senior Technical Product Manager in our Query Execution unit, you’ll help shape the evolution of the highly technical systems that power how content is indexed, secured, retrieved, and queried across our platform.

Working alongside the unit’s director, technical leads, product managers, and internal stakeholders, you’ll turn complex needs into clear priorities and actionable plans, balancing customer and business opportunities with innovation, scalability, reliability, and the long-term health of our technology.

As one of our Senior Technical Product Managers, you will:

  • Help define and evolve the Query Execution product roadmap, balancing business requirements and market opportunities with foundational investments such as refactoring, scalability, reliability, and technical debt reduction.
  • Partner closely with technical leads across Search API, index querying and indexing, infrastructure, and security to understand complex challenges and translate them into clear product priorities.
  • Gather and reconcile requirements from product managers and internal stakeholders, creating feature briefs, facilitating workshops, communicating progress, and driving alignment on scope and priorities.
  • Stay current on search technology and market trends, monitor the competitive landscape, and identify opportunities to experiment, improve existing capabilities, or evaluate build-versus-buy decisions.
  • Lead product discovery and experimentation for emerging opportunities, helping teams validate technical approaches and their potential customer and business value.
  • Build strong feedback loops with customer-facing teams to understand how our technology performs in the field, surface recurring pain points, and incorporate meaningful customer insights into prioritization.

Here is what will qualify you for the role:

  • 5+yrs experience in product management or a closely related role, with the ability to independently own moderately complex initiatives and turn ambiguous needs into clear requirements and priorities.
  • Strong technical acumen and curiosity, enabling you to understand complex software systems and collaborate effectively with highly technical engineering teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to adapt your message to technical and non-technical audiences and build alignment around competing priorities.
  • A proactive problem-solving mindset, with the ability to anticipate challenges, navigate ambiguity, and bring structure to complex product decisions.

What will make you stand out:

  • Experience working with search, information retrieval, indexing, distributed systems, infrastructure, or other technically complex software products.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI), semantic or vector search, and emerging technologies shaping modern search experiences.
  • Experience using customer, market, and competitive insights to identify opportunities and influence product direction.
  • A track record of improving product practices, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, or helping colleagues navigate complex technical product decisions.
