About the role:

Unison is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to own and evolve the core platform that powers our proprietary origination and servicing systems. This is a highly visible, high-impact role at the center of Unison’s technology ecosystem, responsible for defining and executing the product strategy for shared services, internal APIs, and critical third-party integrations.

As a senior leader within Product, you will operate at the intersection of engineering, business operations, compliance, and customer experience. You will translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions, ensure our platform is built for reliability and long-term growth, and enable product teams across the organization to move faster with confidence. You will partner closely with Engineering leadership, act as the voice of internal platform consumers, and help set the technical product standards that underpin Unison’s future.

This role is ideal for a strategic, technically fluent product manager who thrives in complex environments and enjoys building the foundational systems that power differentiated financial products.

This is a hybrid position with the requirement of 3 full days (Tues-Thurs) in either our Omaha, NE OR San Francisco, CA office.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, own, and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Unison’s core platform services, internal APIs, and third-party integrations.
  • Serve as the primary product owner for platform capabilities, translating complex business, operational, and regulatory needs into clear, prioritized epics, features, and technical requirements.
  • Partner closely with Engineering to shape architectural decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable.
  • Establish and reinforce platform product principles that emphasize modularity, reusability, observability, and developer experience across all product teams.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle for vendor and partner integrations, including discovery, implementation, performance monitoring, and ongoing optimization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Finance to ensure platform capabilities align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Define and track platform success metrics and KPIs, such as system reliability, developer velocity, integration performance, time-to-market, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive data-informed product decisions, using qualitative feedback and quantitative insights to prioritize investments and continuously improve platform capabilities.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and roadmap reviews, ensuring engineering teams are set up for clarity, focus, and sustained delivery.
  • Identify technical and operational risks early and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Unison’s product management practices, mentoring junior product managers and raising the bar for technical product excellence.

About you:

  • 6–9+ years of product management experience, including significant experience as a Technical Product Manager owning platform, infrastructure, or internal-facing products.
  • Strong preference for experience within financial services, fintech, mortgage, real estate, or other regulated industries.
  • Proven ability to own complex, cross-functional products end to end, from discovery and strategy through delivery, launch, and iteration.
  • Deep technical fluency with modern software architectures, including APIs, microservices, cloud-native infrastructure, data pipelines, and system integrations.
  • Demonstrated success translating ambiguous business and operational needs into clear, prioritized technical backlogs.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without authority and align diverse teams around a shared vision.
  • Comfort operating in a highly regulated environment, with a working understanding of compliance, data security, and privacy considerations.
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams using Agile and Lean methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid models).
  • Familiarity with CRM and workflow platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and enterprise integration patterns is a plus.
  • Experience optimizing internal developer experience (DX) or platform usability for internal consumers is a strong plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

We recognize that people come with experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job. If your experience is close to what you see listed here, please still consider applying. Diversity of experience and skills combined with passion is a key to innovation and excellence. Therefore, we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply to our positions.
