About SirenOpt

At SirenOpt®, we are building the manufacturing intelligence layer for advanced materials. We help manufacturers visualize, understand, and control the material behavior that determines yield, performance, and safety across energy, aerospace, automotive, electronics, and semiconductor applications.

We are working on this problem because advanced materials are becoming more critical and more complex, but the tools used to manufacture them have not kept pace. Manufacturers still lack real-time visibility into the small variations that shape quality on the line. We care because those invisible variations cause scrap, waste energy and materials, create higher costs, inconsistent product performance, and introduce avoidable safety risks.

We developed PlasmaSens™, our manufacturing intelligence platform, to close that visibility gap and to lay the foundation for truly autonomous manufacturing.

We are uniquely suited to solve this problem because our expertise and our platform connect material science, plasma physics, machine learning, and manufacturing in one system.  The same core technology works in-line, at-line, and off-line, and across form factors ranging from electrodes and wafers to 3D components. That flexibility lets us meet manufacturers where they are and carry insight from the lab into mass production.

We have deployed multiple PlasmaSens products with customers and collaborators across the United States, Japan, Germany, and Taiwan.  We pair that real-world experience with support from leading US, European, and Japanese venture investors, the National Science Foundation, the California Energy Commission, and the Department of Energy.  Our combination of differentiated technology, manufacturing experience, and global scientific and industry partnerships gives us the foundation to solve material variability at scale.

Role Overview

SirenOpt is hiring a Senior Technical Sales Engineer to grow adoption of our products. This is one of the most consequential hires we will make: in a deeply technical business, the sales function is where product capability and credibility becomes revenue. The person in this role will drive that transition, demonstrating clear customer value and moving quickly from first conversation to a well-scoped sale.

You will work with prospective customers to understand their use case(s), explain SirenOpt’s technology in practical terms, shape the right deployment solution, and carry opportunities through to close. You will be especially effective with organizations that need a tailored, credible path to evaluating or deploying new technology without a long enterprise sales cycle. Because our customers buy on technical confidence, the quality and pace of these conversations directly determine how fast the company grows.

What You'll Do

  • Build and manage a project pipeline for commercial deployments.
  • Identify, qualify, and work with the rest of the commercial team to close opportunities across relevant industrial, research, and operational customer segments.
  • Run discovery conversations that uncover technical requirements, buying context, timeline, and decision-makers.
  • Present SirenOpt’s products and capabilities in a concise, customer-relevant way.
  • Develop proposals, quotes, scopes of work, and deployment plans with internal technical teams.
  • Translate customer needs into clear technical requirements and ensure handoffs are accurate.
  • Lead product demonstrations, pilot discussions, and commercial negotiations.
  • Maintain disciplined opportunity notes, forecasts, and next steps in the CRM.
  • Bring market feedback into product, engineering, and leadership conversations.
  • Represent SirenOpt professionally at customer meetings, industry events, and partner conversations.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience selling technical products, equipment, software-enabled hardware, or engineering services.
  • Comfort engaging both technical users and commercial decision-makers.
  • A practical understanding of consultative sales: discovery, qualification, value articulation, proposal development, and closing.
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts quickly and explain them without unnecessary jargon.
  • Strong written communication, particularly for proposals and customer follow-up.
  • Self-directed, organized, and comfortable owning a project cycle end to end.
  • Sound judgment around scope, feasibility, pricing, and customer expectations.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice for important customer meetings, demonstrations, trade shows and/or product deployments.

Especially Valuable

  • Experience in advanced manufacturing-focused industries, either as a supplier or customer.
  • Language proficiency in one or more foreign language relevant to our customer targets in Japan, Korea, Taiwan or China
  • Background in optical systems, sensors, scientific instrumentation, industrial technology, robotics, hardware, or related fields.
  • Experience selling benchtop instruments, pilot projects, proof-of-concept engagements, or custom deployments.
  • Existing relationships in SirenOpt’s target markets.
  • Experience working in an early-stage company or small technical team.

What success looks like

Within your first six months, you will have built solid relationships with strategic prospects, customers, and related stakeholders (e.g., factory integrators and line-builders), developed a crisp understanding of SirenOpt’s ideal customer and sales motion, and helped close initial standalone and one-off deployment opportunities. Over time, you will help create a repeatable commercial playbook that turns technical and standalone product interest into in-line manufacturing opportunities and revenue that will help drive SirenOpt’s long-term commercial growth.
