Work Flexibility: Hybrid

What You Will Do:

You will join Stryker Endoscopy’s Test R&D Team as part of the Opto-mechanical group, working alongside other engineers to create effective test methodologies for evaluating product designs during development. Your responsibilities will include design verification—developing test plans and protocols, then performing testing and documenting outcomes in reports submitted for regulatory review. Strong communication and coordination are vital, as you will manage samples, oversee test execution, report results, and keep timelines aligned with the cross-functional project team. You may also take on leadership roles, such as leading testing for entire products (including non-mechanical aspects) or collaborating closely with engineers and other specialists.

The Test R&D team brings together engineers, specialists, interns, co-ops, and managers in a close-knit environment. With experience ranging from less than a year to over two decades, our technical expertise spans mechanical, optical, electrical, application software, and embedded software fields. Cross-functional partners often describe us as hardworking, analytical, and highly collaborative.

Responsibilities:

  • Own opto-mechanical test method development for new projects
  • Design and build test fixtures (manual and automated), instrumentation setups, and measurement routines; drive automation where it improves repeatability and efficiency.
  • Plan and execute design verification and reliability studies; analyze results, perform root-cause, and recommend improvements.
  • Partner with Design, Quality, Manufacturing, Systems, Regulatory, and Program Management to align on requirements and risk-based test strategies.
  • Author protocols, reports, and traceability documentation; present technical findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help scale lab capabilities across optical and mechanical domains.

What You Will Need:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.), Mechanical/Mechatronics, Optical/Photonics, Biomedical, or related engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Experience in developing new test methodologies and related fixtures, jigs, and/or automations
  • Experience in technical writing for regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills in mechanical and/or optics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Test engineering experience in a regulated industry
  • Experience with CAD: preferably Creo and/or SolidWorks
  • Proficiency in analyzing data using statistical methods

  • $101 - $168k salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
