A new space race has begun. True Anomaly seeks those with the talent and ambition to build innovative technology that solves the next generation of engineering, manufacturing, and operational challenges for space security and sustainability.

OUR MISSION

The peaceful use of space is essential for continued prosperity on Earth—from communications and finance to navigation and logistics. True Anomaly builds innovative technology at the intersection of spacecraft, software, and AI to enhance the capabilities of the U.S., its allies, and commercial partners. We safeguard global security by ensuring space access and sustainability for all.

OUR VALUES

  • Be the offset. We create asymmetric advantages with creativity and ingenuity
  • What would it take? We challenge assumptions to deliver ambitious results
  • It’s the people. Our team is our competitive advantage and we are better together

YOUR MISSION

Creatives like you are essential to this mission — to inspire, define, and build. This is some of the most meaningful work you'll ever do, in an industry devoted to protecting the people you care about.

We're looking for an experienced UI designer to join a growing creative team at an early and exciting moment for the company. This is a hands-on creative role — creating prototypes, defining our design system, and whatever else the mission demands. Your artistic talent is front and center; while a knowledge of UX is vital, this role is focused on our visual direction, you’ll be rolling up your sleeves and creating. You'll work directly with our Creative Director who’s building this team for people who care as much about the craft as the mission.

WHY THIS ROLE

Nobody has defined what mission-critical space software should look and feel like. There’s no decade-old design system handed down from a legacy defense contractor to follow. No committee approving your component library. The interfaces you build here will set the standard for how a critical industry empowers the people defending it — and right now, that standard doesn't exist yet.

You'll have real ownership. From prototypes that shape our product strategy to the design system that operators will rely on in no-fail environments, your work will be seen and used at the highest levels of government and military. This is the kind of design problem that doesn't come around often — where the craft genuinely matters to the outcome.

If you've ever wanted your work to carry real weight — this is that job.

WHAT YOU’LL DO – UI design and execution

  • Help us build our product. Create component libraries and layouts to feed our engineering teams as they build our software products.
  • Drive the vision for our products by creating and maintaining our style guide
  • Develop prototypes that challenge the norms and push us forward
  • Bring impeccable design and artistic vision into everything we do, make us stand out

WHAT WE’D LIKE TO SEE - We hire for talent and potential, not pedigree.

  • 8-11 years of experience
  • Show us an amazing portfolio that showcases your personal artistic skills and demonstrates your experience on projects you’re proud of
  • While defense and space knowledge is great, we don’t expect it. Tech, Games, design/creative agency and freelancer are all good backgrounds for this role
  • We work in Adobe Creative Suite with Figma for our UI/UX — comfort with these is essential, knowledge of others is a plus

WHAT WE EXPECT

  • Leverage your experience to work quickly and efficiently, we’re a lean team, everyone needs to pitch in and move fast
  • Take ownership of creative programs and see them through concept to final execution
  • Turn your hand to what’s needed, UI will be your primary focus but our company needs people able to wear multiple hats

If you like this role but your skills or experience don’t quite fit… well apply anyway, or look at our other creative team role and see if that’s a better match: SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER
