CEPRES is the leading and fastest growing digital data platform for private capital markets, encompassing portfolio management, investment due diligence, portfolio forecasting and market research and deal comps. Out clients include some of the World’s largest and most influential institutional investors (LPs) and asset managers (GPs), as well as many service providers such as banks, administrators, etc.

CEPRES is headquartered in Munich with North American offices in New York, Denver, Chicago and Toronto. Our team is incredibly diverse with over 20 nationalities globally. We value smart and innovative people who also work effectively in a team environment and who are global players.

The Role

As the Senior Vice President Sales, Americas for CEPRES, you will be responsible for driving the sales strategy, execution, and management of the firm's private equity software and data offerings in the Americas. You will work closely with senior leadership and manage a sales team to identify new business opportunities, manage relationships with potential investors, and ensure the achievement of sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of private markets, working in the context of software and data solutions, especially for GP Investor Relations and Deal Teams, but also LPs and service providers, exceptional client-facing skills, and a proven ability to build and manage client relationships.

CEPRES has built the world’s largest data network for private capital markets —where GPs can interact with and securely share their data with sovereign wealth funds, insurers, pension plans and others for mutual benefit and to enhance investment management and deal making in private markets.

What we need now is a leader to drive the market expansion in North America and substantially grow our market footprint. This is a player-coach mandate: you will lead the sales team and help them open new logos from across your network and lead the team to success and new business success through your leadership.

In this role, you will:

  • Set sales strategy – working with senior leadership and the sales team to design and execute a sales strategy that drives new business and market growth.
  • Build and lead a team. Develop, hire, and optimize a highly effective team of sales managers, BDRs and presales engineers who can effectively generate pipelines, engage prospects and close new business together.
  • Sales Pipeline – operationally manage the team pipeline, ensuring proper planning, tracking and execution of sales activities and CRM hygiene to feed into global sales modelling.
  • Go-to-market strategy. Optimize market segmentation, pricing models to win new business and leave room for larger deal upside, marketing strategies (in collaboration with marketing), etc.
  • Lead from the front. Directly support the team in meetings and through mentoring. Especially take on the most significant and enterprise level deals from end to end to ensure success.
  • Be an advocate. Build relationships with industry influencers, be a champion for CEPRES in the market and help promote the brand and represent CEPRES at the industry's most important events.
  • Solution engineering. Partner with Product and data services to ensure we can meet the market needs with input to the product roadmap. Ensure that we can meet the requirements to close new business that requires product enhancement, and any custom work is priced and sold correctly.
  • Interaction with Professional Services and Customer Success Management. Operate a land, expand and retain approach to sales. Make sure we can deliver what we sell in collaboration with other teams and that client satisfaction is maintained and supports future upsell opportunities.

Requirements
  • 10–15+ years in sales or business development in financial services, specifically successful selling software and data solutions. Candidates who began in consulting and moved into a sales or commercial role are equally welcome.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in private markets. In particular interacting with brand name GPs working with front office practitioners within Investor Relations and Deal Teams. An understanding of LPs and their demands is also a must.
  • 5+ years experience in sales leadership. A proven track record managing successfully and multi-functional sales teams with numbers to back it up.
  • A personal closing record you can point to. You have carried and delivered your own quota of brand names in financial services.
  • New-logo hunting instinct. You can hunt from the front and show the path to your team to generate new pipeline —you focus on opening accounts to farming them.
  • Proven enterprise deal leadership. You have closed complex, six- and seven-figure multi-year agreements with large financial entities and navigated complex legal, procurement, and IT challenges.
  • Outstanding presentation capabilities. Experience presenting to an analyst or Chief Investment Officer and other stakeholders across procurement and IT, etc.
  • Executive communication. You are persuasive in a boardroom, precise in a forecast review, and credible on a conference stage.
  • Real private markets knowledge. CAIA level or equivalent knowledge of private markets concepts and investment needs

Benefits
  • Enhanced Career in Private Markets CEPRES is at the top of the food chain for private markets data and solutions and helping professionals in ways others haven’t even thought of. Be part of a unique growth story and take on an exciting, challenging role in a dynamic global environment.
