About OpenArt

We built OpenArt for people who have a vision but not a studio, and creators who have a story but not an entire production team.

Today, OpenArt is one of the fastest-growing AI creative platforms, helping millions of people create images, videos, stories, ads, and other creative content with AI.

OpenArt was selected as one of just five companies in the 2026 Disney Accelerator and recognized by Notable Capital's Prosumer AI 40 as one of the 40 most innovative AI-native companies.

We're a small, ambitious team that moves fast, takes ownership, and builds without waiting for a playbook.

The Role

We're hiring an SEO & AEO Lead to run OpenArt's SEO team and own how we get found — in Google and in AI assistants.

This is a player-coach role: roughly half your time leading a small, distributed team and half hands-on in the work.

The publishing volume we need isn't achievable by hand, so we want someone who already ships content at scale with AI and can teach the team to work the same way.

What You'll OwnOrganic Strategy & Growth
  • Own organic end to end across Google and AI assistants: cluster strategy, page production, technical health, links, and the results they deliver in traffic, rankings, and paid subscribers.

  • Move our hardest category head terms in AI image and video into the top results, and be honest about which need better content versus authority we don't yet have.

  • Own measurement, including connecting SEO performance to revenue by cluster, and make the calls on where to stop investing — including in clusters you originally championed.

Team Leadership
  • Run the SEO team day to day, set the bar for briefs, templates, and review, and own the output as a whole.

  • If pages ship late or quality slips, that's yours before it's anyone else's.

  • Coach the team on AEO and on working with AI. Most SEO practitioners have never written for citation or run an AI-assisted pipeline, and both are trainable.

Content & AI-Powered Production
  • Ship the hardest clusters yourself, from keyword set to live pages. You set the standard by doing the work, not by describing it in a doc.

  • Build the production system that lets a small team publish hundreds of pages a month with AI: prompts, templates, review criteria, and a kill rate you can defend.

AEO & AI Discovery
  • Own how OpenArt shows up in AI assistants and AI Overviews across tracked prompt sets, and define what we count.

  • The data is noisy and easy to over-read, so the metric has to be one leadership can actually act on.

  • Earn citations where they actually come from: comparison pages, structured Q&A, schema, and original data on-site, plus YouTube, Reddit, and third-party roundups off-site.

Authority & Link Building
  • Direct link acquisition.

  • Pick the target pages, set the anchor strategy, decide what's worth paying for, and review what the link builder brings rather than rubber-stamping it.

Technical SEO
  • Keep the technical foundation sound as publishing volume scales, working directly with engineering.

  • Write tickets engineers can act on and defend the priority when SEO work competes with product work.

What You'll Bring
  • 5–10 years of SEO experience, including time owning organic growth for a site at real scale.

  • Experience leading people, with clear examples of work that improved because of how you managed the team.

  • A genuinely hands-on approach. You still run your own audits, pull your own data, and write your own briefs.

  • Experience shipping content with AI at volume, with a clear system for maintaining quality.

  • An AI-native workflow: LLMs and agents are part of your daily work, including wiring up tools over MCP to pull your own data.

  • Strong technical SEO fundamentals, plus real AEO experience or a serious point of view on how AEO should work.

  • Strong data fluency. You're comfortable enough with SQL or a BI tool to answer your own questions, and skeptical enough to notice when a number looks wrong.

  • Based in the Bay Area, or willing to relocate.

Nice to Have
  • Consumer or content-heavy platform experience.

  • Programmatic page generation at scale.

  • Experience managing across time zones.

  • Digital PR and link-building experience for high-difficulty head terms.

  • International SEO experience.

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
