As a Simulation Engineer at 1X Technologies, you will lead thermal and multi-body structural analysis for advanced robotic systems, supporting design decisions across development and production.

Responsibilities

  • Build and validate thermal models for actuators, electronics, and enclosures.

  • Perform multi-body dynamics simulations for robot motion and load cases.

  • Develop structural FEA models to assess stress, fatigue, and stiffness.

  • Correlate simulations with test data; improve model fidelity.

  • Define simulation best practices, templates, and documentation.

  • Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and HW teams to translate requirements into models.

  • Run DOE and sensitivity studies to guide design decisions.

  • Support design reviews with clear technical reports and visualizations.

  • Automate simulation workflows with scripting where appropriate.

  • Contribute to system-level trade studies and architecture decisions.

About You

  • BS/MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.

  • 5+ years in thermal, structural, or dynamics simulation.

  • Proficiency in FEA/CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL) and MBD tools (e.g., MSC Adams).

  • Strong understanding of heat transfer, materials, and mechanics.

  • Experience with test correlation and validation methods.

  • Ability to create robust boundary conditions and load cases.

  • Scripting skills (Python/MATLAB) for automation and post-processing.

  • Clear technical communication and documentation.

  • Comfort working in fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

  • Hands-on mindset; ability to interpret hardware constraints and manufacturing realities.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary Range: $119,800 - $203,800 + Equity
