Job Description

Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is looking for a Site Implementation Engineer to work on the Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) – Increment 1 (INC1) program.  The Global Enterprise Network Modernization – OCONUS (GENM-O) is a critical mission provider responsible for keeping the Army connected through global network modernization projects. The Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) - Increment 1 (INC1) will unify the next generation of Army transport to comply with the Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) divestiture mandate. A phased systematic approach is required to provide individual sites with standardized, updated technology systems to ensure the Army’s Information Technology (IT) infrastructure is equipped to provide soldiers with cutting-edge technology to ensure applications, data, and enterprise services are accessible, trusted, and interoperable across the globe.  

Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and conducts implementation activities at each installation site.
  • Holds pivotal role on Site Installation Team’s (SITs) and Remote Engineering & Installation Team (REIT).
  • Conducts information verification and survey to identify the existing conditions of each site.
  • Utilizes Government-approved test methodologies to conduct surveys to capture any grounding and bonding issues that may impact equipment installation related to the project and the contractor’s ability to provide a new IT infrastructure.
  • Reports any system deficiencies or network degradation that will prevent the new implemented system from performing at its peak level.
  • Utilizes test methodologies such as bandwidth, latency, and packet loss tests and notify Government O&M personnel for remediation.
  • Provides all resources necessary to survey project site facilities that currently provide or will provide IT infrastructure to the local site.
  • Surveys and tests existing infrastructure intended for re-use as part of its design.
  • Develops and submits to the Government a List of Materiel for each site installation.
  • Performs continuing coordination with the Government during surveys and report any items it discovers in its surveys that may impact the design or implementation of the solution at the project site, and Facilities Engineering Work Requests (FEWRs) as required.
  • Provides details to Material Fielding Plan (MFP) for each installation to include: Description of system being deployed;
  • Fielding and logistics procedures for the system being fielded, to include the fielding schedule;
  • System maintenance plan including all hardware warranties (e.g., OEM, workmanship, and cable installation), software license data, to include company POCs (e.g., full name, title, phone, email address), hours of operation, and Return Materials Authorization (RMA), and RMA procedures;
  • supply chain risk management plan; and Minimum Essential Spares based on manufacturer's recommendation.
  • Enforces safety and environmental standards set at the program level to adhere to DOD, national, and local standards as they apply in each installation location.
  • Conducts on-site delivery of maintainer training and classroom training for operators to ensure sites are familiar with installed equipment, maintenance procedures, and operators are ready to manage the AGUN SDN system.
  • Coordinates physical site permits and permissions with local authorities like the post DPW.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires BS degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience.  A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • US Citizen with a Secret security clearance.
  • Experience leading small installation teams (2-5 people)
  • Demonstrated experience working within the Agile framework.
  • 8570 IAT II and OS certifications
  • Willing to travel for extended periods of time. 25 – 50% travel required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working within Army’s IT infrastructure.
  • Direct or indirect experience working on the Joint Regional Security Stacks.

Pay Range:Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
