Lead and manage Redwood Credit Union's community, financial wellness, and social impact programs and the RCU Community Fund. Oversee program planning, budgeting, execution, measurement, reporting, staff hiring and development, cross‑functional partnerships, communications, and community representation to drive program impact and visibility.
Redwood Credit Union is seeking a Social Impact Manager, who will be responsible for all operational aspects of Redwood Credit Union’s (RCU’s) community, financial wellness, and social impact programs, as well as oversight of the Redwood Credit Union Community Fund (RCUCF). Responsible for comprehensive program leadership including program development, planning, budgeting, execution, measurement and reporting, as well as staff hiring and management. Serve as an ambassador for RCU in the community, strengthening the organization’s reputation and brand through strategic visibility and relationship-building across RCU’s field of membership. The overall focus of this position is to strategically build, enhance and sustain exceptional community, financial wellness, and social impact programs that position RCU as a visible, contributing, and trusted community partner in all communities that RCU serves and supports.
Key Responsibilities
Program Operations:
o Reporting directly to the VP/ Community & Social Impact, plan, develop, budget, implement, manage, monitor, and report on all aspects of RCU’s community, financial wellness, and social impact programs.
o Help develop annual program plans and budgets in collaboration with leadership, staff, and strategic partners; monitor progress and assess impact throughout the year.
o Hire, supervise, coach, and develop team members; establish goals, conduct performance evaluations, and support training and professional growth.
o Oversee program execution and reporting, ensuring tools and processes effectively track performance and outcomes.
o Partner cross‑functionally with departments across RCU to ensure aligned, effective delivery of community, financial wellness, and social impact programs with meaningful results.
o Ensure there are efficient procedures and processes in place to maximize operational efficiencies while ensuring exceptional results.
o Oversee timely updates to RCU’s website, intranet, and communication platforms related to community, financial wellness, and social impact programs.
o Collaborate with RCU’s marketing and public relations/communications staff to develop and amplify social impact stories, and generate visibility and engagement in RCU’s community, financial wellness, and social impact programs.
o Prepare and deliver presentations and/or training to internal and external audiences regarding RCU’s community, financial wellness, and social impact programs.
o Help develop annual program plans and budgets in collaboration with leadership, staff, and strategic partners; monitor progress and assess impact throughout the year.

o Provide oversight of staff execution of the RCU Community Fund operations, fundraising (excluding grant writing), and storytelling.
Company & Department Support:
o Manage and support companywide campaigns such as the annual employee giving campaign and others to ensure successful planning, engagement, and execution.
o Ensure accuracy and consistency through quality control, proofreading, and review of reports and communications.
o Support and serve in the absence of the VP/ Community & Social Impact and SVP/Community, Advocacy & Employee Engagement on items related to community, financial wellness, and social impact programs.
o Provide support and expertise to individuals, groups, and committees to complete short- and long-term projects and initiatives.
o Ensure accuracy and consistency through quality control, proofreading, and review of reports and communications.
o Support and serve in the absence of the VP/ Community & Social Impact and SVP/Community, Advocacy & Employee Engagement on items related to community, financial wellness, and social impact programs.
o Provide support and expertise to individuals, groups, and committees to complete short- and long-term projects and initiatives.

Minimum Qualification: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Previous leadership experience in nonprofit, community engagement, or social impact programs on behalf of large- scale/multi-faceted organizations.
- Excellent project and event management skills. Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, evaluate program effectiveness, and translate insights into strategic recommendations.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and quality control.
- Exceptional communication skills, including written, oral and presentation skills with an excellent grasp of English language including grammar and punctuation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Proven ability to build relationships, collaborate across teams, and motivate cross-functional working groups.
- Proficient in MS Office and comfortable learning and using online tools and platforms.
- Working knowledge of consumer financial services industry is preferred.
The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business management, public administration or similar and a minimum of eight years’ experience with nonprofit or community programs, management, event and project management and strategic relationship building.
Compensation: Base starting range: $132,442 to $155,813 annually commensurate with experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Work environment is both indoors at a desk and at times at event locations.
