The Social Media Research Manager develops research strategies, manages a team analyzing trends, and translates insights into actionable recommendations for clients.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join Vocal Media’s team!
The Social Media Research Manager will assist in developing the research strategy for our agency's clients, overseeing trend identification, conversation monitoring, and insights development. They will manage the team responsible for tracking online conversations, identifying emerging trends, and translating digital insights into actionable recommendations for clients. This role goes beyond social listening and will think strategically about algorithms, trends, and talent identification.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee research strategies and analysis for multiple client accounts, with specialized expertise in social media trends and conversations
- Manage a team dedicated to monitoring online discussions, identifying emerging trends, and analyzing conversation patterns across social platforms
- Identify creators who could be a fit for potential campaigns
- Develop comprehensive trend reports that translate social listening insights into strategic recommendations for clients
- Provide expert guidance on incorporating research insights into broader client programs and campaigns
- Stay at the forefront of research tools, methodologies, and platform-specific analytics to ensure cutting-edge approaches
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through presentations, strategic meetings, and responsive support
- Lead and mentor the social listening team, facilitating professional development and ensuring high-quality analytical output
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure social listening insights inform content creation, campaign strategy, and broader client goals
- Identify creator talent that could be a fit for campaigns or Vocal partners
- Lead on the development of our local sourcing and talent identification
- Identify the latest social media tactics and trends happening online
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in research, social listening, social media, influencer marketing, digital analytics, or social media intelligence
- Proven track record analyzing online trends and conversations, particularly on TikTok and emerging platforms
- Deep understanding of social listening tools, trend analysis methodologies, and insights development best practices
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify meaningful patterns in large datasets and translate them into actionable insights
- Strong communication skills to effectively present complex data and insights to diverse audiences
- Experience leading analytics teams and developing social listening talent
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple analysis projects under strict deadlines
- Passion for digital culture and demonstrated ability to identify and contextualize emerging trends
