Social Media Specialist
Overview
The Social Media Specialist plays a critical role in amplifying Aerial Canvas’s brand presence through daily social content creation, editing, and campaign management. This role is designed for a current Creative Specialist ready to take the next step, leveraging their production skills to build engaging, trend-forward content that drives visibility, engagement, and leads.
Responsibilities
- Content Capture: Capture daily behind-the-scenes, client interactions, and property media across 15–20 shoots per day.
- Editing: Edit the majority of social-first content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts, posts, and stories) in DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or Premiere.
- Posting & Scheduling: Maintain consistency across platforms:
- 3–7 posts per week (posts & reels)
- Daily Instagram stories
- Monthly analytics report
- Ad Management: Plan, launch, and manage campaigns (Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, LinkedIn, TikTok), with authority to execute budgets within approved parameters.
- Content Organization: Curate, store, and label evergreen content in Dropbox and Google Drive for future campaigns.
- Collaboration: Communicate with PMs, creative specialists, and clients to align on shoot access, NDAs, and brand priorities.
Performance: Eligible for commission on qualified leads generated directly from social campaigns. - Social Media Engagement & Lead Handoff: Monitor and respond to comments and direct messages across all platforms; provide accurate information to clients and prospects; ensure smooth handoff of inquiries and leads to the appropriate internal team (client operations, project management, or production).
Required Skills
- Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve (preferred), Final Cut Pro, and/or Premiere.
- Strong understanding of social media trends, video editing, and color grading.
- Familiarity with Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, and analytics reporting.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable to daily fieldwork.
- Advanced skills in photography, video, and drone operations.
- FAA Part 107 Drone License is required.
- High emotional intelligence (EQ) with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically.
- Ability to manage time effectively, with a focus on tracking hours and meeting deadlines.
Equipment
- Company-provided kit (camera, tripod, gimbal, drone, etc.).
- Computer: company equipment may be provided as needed.
Travel Expectation
- Daily travel across the Bay Area to properties; mileage reimbursed at IRS/CA rate via MileIQ.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly + overtime eligible.
- Eligible for commission on qualified leads generated.

WORK HOURS
This is a full-time, hourly position with optional overtime (OT) and double overtime (DOT) opportunities. Work hours will vary based on project needs, with the possibility of weekend availability. Standard operating hours are Monday-Sunday, 9:00 am PST to 6:00 pm PST.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- 1-3 years of experience in professional or independent creative contracting work
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
- Repeating motions that may include the arms, wrists, hand, and/or fingers
- Operating light machinery and/or electronic equipment
- Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
- Standing for extended periods of time
