Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services (BGS), is seeking a Software Application Developer to join our product engineering team supporting US Transportation Command's (USTRANSCOM) Integrated Booking System (IBS) program at Scott Air Force Base. The successful candidate will design, develop, test, and maintain software applications that support mission critical product features and operational needs.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with product managers, systems engineers, and other developers to refine product requirements and convert them into robust software solutions
  • Design, implement, test, and deliver software components and services for enterprise or embedded product platforms
  • Write clear, maintainable, and well-documented code following established architecture and coding standards
  • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and continuous improvement activities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production and development issues in a timely manner
  • Implement and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and deployment processes
  • Ensure software complies with security, safety, and government regulatory requirements relevant to the domain
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
  • Maintain accurate development artifacts (design docs, release notes, test plans)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience
  • Working knowledge of Java
  • Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular)
  • Experience with version control (Git)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and build systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience OR 13+ years of related, relevant experience
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and familiarity with security assessment tools
  • Experience in avionics, aerospace, defense, or other safety-critical domains
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) or embedded real-time systems
  • Master's degree in a related technical discipline

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary base pay range $81,000 - $92,000
