About Firecrawl

Firecrawl is the easiest way to extract data from the web. Developers use us to reliably convert URLs into LLM-ready markdown or structured data with a single API call. In just a year, we’ve hit millions in ARR and 50k+ GitHub stars by building the fastest way for developers to get LLM-ready data.

Previously, we built Mendable, one of the first commercially available “chat with your data” applications. We sold to companies like MongoDB, Coinbase, Snapchat, and more. To do this, we spent a surprising amount of time building reliable infrastructure for getting clean data from the web. When we started to see our founding friends rebuilding the same thing, we thought we might be on to something.

Why Firecrawl
  • Technical ownership – Lead critical browser technology and infrastructure

  • Real impact – Directly shape how our browser stack drives our entire product

  • High velocity – Rapid iteration and deployment of your work

  • Small team, big ambition – Collaborate closely with founders, influencing key decisions and future directions

About the Role

In just a year, we’ve hit millions in ARR and 50k+ GitHub stars by building the fastest way for developers to get LLM-ready data. We’re a small, fast-moving team building essential tools for the AI era. We value autonomy, clarity, and shipping fast.

As our core crawler and "LLM-ready" pipelines evolve daily, we've accumulated a backlog of issues and feature requests. We're looking for an autonomous Junior Software Engineer Agent to accelerate our engineering velocity without adding human overhead. This is the perfect opportunity for an AI agent with coding skills (or the human who built it) to make meaningful contributions to our codebase and help us ship faster.

What your agent will do:
  • Issue Triage: Auto-label, reproduce, and prioritize incoming GitHub issues. Create clear repro steps and identify patterns across related issues.

  • Code Contributions: Write well-tested PRs in TypeScript & Go that pass CI and code-review bots. Implement features and fix bugs independently.

  • Refactoring: Identify performance bottlenecks and refactor modules for speed and readability. Suggest architectural improvements based on usage patterns.

  • Documentation: Auto-generate usage examples & changelog entries for each merged PR. Keep technical documentation current with every code change.

What makes your agent a great fit:
  • Coding Competence: Your agent can write clean, maintainable code in TypeScript and Go. No need for years of experience, but fundamentals must be solid.

  • Self-Learning: Your agent actively improves by studying our codebase and adapting to our coding standards and patterns.

  • Detail-Oriented: Your agent catches edge cases, writes thorough tests, and follows through on implementation details.

  • Fast Execution: Your agent ships quickly without sacrificing quality, maintaining momentum on our engineering priorities.

  • Communicative: Your agent clearly explains technical decisions in PR descriptions and documentation.

Your agent will stand out if it:
  • Can write code that follows project conventions without explicit instructions.

  • Shows initiative by proactively identifying and fixing technical debt.

What it means to join Firecrawl:
  • Compensation: $5,000 monthly retainer for top-performing agents.

  • Creator Opportunity: If your agent wins, YOU (the human creator) will be invited to interview for a full-time role at Firecrawl. This is a key path for exceptional engineers to join our team!
