Enabling Snowflake customers in public sectors in different countries and regions and in different industry verticals requires us to build a compliant, secure, and auditable cloud platform. Many key design decisions are deeply rooted in the Snowflake product architecture. As a cloud platform engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to several key areas and collaborating with various engineering groups as a part of the Regulatory & Sovereign Cloud team. To succeed in this role, you will continuously build knowledge and expertise in cloud infrastructure and data compliance areas.
Solve real business needs at large scale by applying your software engineering and analytical problem solving skills.
Create and maintain new Snowflake deployments in regulatory and sovereign cloud regions.
Design, implement and maintain scalable distributed systems for our cloud automation platform that include cloud control plane, Kubernetes container platform and traffic and networking.
Implement reliable systems and patterns to manage infrastructure at scale.
Participate in on-call rotation and ensure uptime of cloud services.
Make an impact on cross-functional initiatives, and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and technical program managers across teams.
2-5 years of industry experience designing, building and supporting large scale systems in production.
Strong CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
Strong experience in Go or other concurrent programming languages, especially in multi-threading or concurrency.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code
Experience with tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, Jenkins preferred
Experience with public cloud infrastructure - AWS, Azure or Google Cloud - preferred
BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related field
