About Persona

Persona is the configurable identity platform built for businesses in a digital-first world. Verifying individuals and organizations is harder — but more important — than ever, with AI enabling fraudsters to launch sophisticated accounts at scale and regulations evolving rapidly.

We’ve built Persona to support practically every use case and industry — that’s why we’re able to serve a wide range of leading companies. For example, Reddit relies on Persona for age assurance and verification to comply with online safety regulations, protecting younger users while maintaining a seamless experience. Meanwhile, OpenAI relies on Persona to keep bad actors out, protecting one of the world’s most powerful AI platforms from large-scale abuse in a time when AI is reshaping the way we work and live.

We’re growing rapidly and looking for exceptional people to join us!

About the role

The Engineering Internal Velocity (EIV) team empowers engineers to ship high-quality software faster and with greater confidence. As a Software Engineer on EIV, you'll drive end-to-end initiatives that eliminate friction across the development workflow where you focus on Deploys, Continuous Integration (CI), Development Environment (DevEnv), and critical dependency management. You'll own meaningful improvements to pipeline reliability and turnaround time, directly accelerating how quickly the entire engineering organization can deliver value to customers.

What you’ll do at Persona

  • Own and evolve the core systems that enable Persona engineers to build, test, and deploy software, shaping how work moves from code to our customers.

  • Build and scale developer tooling, CI, and deployment infrastructure that reduces friction, increases reliability, and helps teams move with confidence.

  • Act as a force multiplier for engineering teams by removing bottlenecks, standardizing best practices, and improving the day-to-day developer experience across the company.

  • Drive improvements in engineering velocity and system health using instrumentation, data, and automation to inform decisions.

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and security partners to embed safety, reliability, and scalability into everyday development practices.

What you’ll bring to Persona

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience improving developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, or internal platforms with reliability and usability in mind.

  • Hands-on experience with multi-regional applications employing background jobs and database migrations.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, aligning stakeholders and driving adoption of shared tooling, workflows, and standards

  • A data-driven mindset where you define clear success metrics, measure outcomes, and iterate based on the data

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with Ruby/Rails

Full-time Employee Benefits and Perks

For full-time employees (excluding internship and contractor opportunities), Persona offers a wide range of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision, 3% 401(k) contribution, unlimited PTO, quarterly mental health days, family planning benefits, professional development stipend, wellness benefits, among others. While we believe competitive compensation and benefits are a critical aspect of you deciding to join us, we do hope you consider why our core values and culture are right for you.
