About the RoleFormal is on a mission to build the best engineering team and we're looking for people who want to make outsized impact on shaping the product and building the company.
Our ideal candidate has a deep understanding of building scalable systems, a strong sense of ownership, and enjoys owning projects from inception to scaling it in production.
Our tech stack currently involves Typescript, NextJS, Shadcn, Vercel, and Golang
What you'll doContinuously improve the performance and reliability of our frontend application by optimizing code and identifying areas for enhancement.
Enhance existing features by incorporating user feedback and implementing improvements to usability and design.
Take ownership of the frontend architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
Lead any initiative you think may have a strong impact on Formal.
Relevant software development experience building data-intensive software platforms
Strong expertise in a modern framework (e.g. React, Vue.js) and proficiency with some backend language (we use Go)
Experience with streaming data processing frameworks such as Apache Kafka and Google Pub/Sub
Some experience with underlying infrastructure primitives like Kubernetes and Terraform
Experience in building scalable, responsive, and cross-browser compatible web applications
Solid understanding of frontend development principles, including testing, performance optimization, code modularity, and accessibility
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex technical challenges with innovative solutions
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Early engineer at a hyper-growth startup.
Extensive experience designing applications on Figma
Experience contributing to a design framework
Experience with UI/UX and product design
