About the role

You'll build and optimize the experiences that turn visitors into users and users into paying customers. This means owning new user onboarding, activation funnels, viral loops, and monetization features including credit systems, paywalls, pricing experiments, and upgrade flows. You'll work across the full stack—from frontend UX to backend logic to analytics instrumentation—while running A/B tests and iterating rapidly based on data to move key metrics.

As Software Engineer on the Growth team, you'll partner with PM, design, and data to drive measurable impact on our business. You'll balance scrappy experimentation with deliberate execution, moving fast when trying new ideas but slowing down when dealing with money. You'll be motivated by seeing growth and monetization metrics go up and to the right.

Our team has a strong in-office culture and works in person 4–5 days per week in San Francisco. We love working together to stay creative and connected, with flexibility to work from home when focus matters most.

What you'll do
  • Build and optimize onboarding flows, activation funnels, and viral loops that drive user growth

  • Implement monetization features including credit systems, paywalls, pricing experiments, and upgrade flows

  • Run A/B tests and iterate rapidly, building tooling to improve our experimentation framework

  • Own key growth metrics including sign-ups, activation rates, conversion, and retention

  • Work across the full stack from frontend to backend to analytics instrumentation

  • Partner with PM, design, and data to translate business goals into technical implementations

What you'll bring
  • 3+ years building production web applications with strong full-stack fundamentals

  • Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Node.js (or strong fundamentals in similar technologies)

  • Strong product and business sense with motivation to move growth and monetization metrics

  • Data-driven mindset with comfort using A/B testing, analytics, and interpreting metrics

  • Ability to move fast when experimenting but also slow and deliberately when dealing with credits and payments

  • Scrappy approach with comfort in ambiguity and iterative shipping

  • Experience with growth/monetization systems like onboarding, paywalls, referrals, or payment flows (Nice to have)

Compensation range:

The base salary for this full-time position, which spans multiple internal levels depending on qualifications, ranges between $180K - $275K plus benefits & equity.

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to experience and expertise in the requirements listed above.

If you're interested in this role but you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway! We're always excited about meeting great people.
