The Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology (DEE&T) Growth, Commerce and Identity Client Engineering organization delivers experiences across Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+ built on a common platform and shared technology. You will serve as a high level technical resource and “go-to” person, solving sophisticated technical challenges and finding opportunities to improve systems, products, and services! 

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:  

Collaborate with Senior and Lead Engineers to build features in Mobile SDKs and support enterprise use cases 

You assist with critical components including our release process, remote configuration management, and live production issues.   

You not only seek out leadership opportunities to improve processes, but you do it with finesse and a positive attitude.  

Responsibilities: 

Contribute to code reviews, knowledge-sharing, and technical investigations. 

Collaborate with Senior and Lead Engineers to build features in Mobile SDKs and support enterprise use cases 

Understand the internals of mobile platforms and how to debug and diagnose mobile device issues.  

Develop, Debug, Test and Benchmark various components in the software stack  

Gather additional requirements and spec missing functionality required across various functional teams  

Create and update documentation across the entire software development lifecycle as needed  

Maintain a strong understanding of our code to identify, research and address issues   

Help to develop our project’s build system and continuous integration system as needed  

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience  

3+ years of production experience with Kotlin and the Android SDK  

Well-versed in different mobile architectural patterns  

Pristine communication skills who can collaborate well across teams  

You write phenomenal code, tests, and documentation  

Experience resolving production issues ideally on a large scale  

Ability or willingness to learn iOS Mobile development with Swift, and other related libraries. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Proficiency in additional mobile platform languages and patterns, such as Swift 

Experience working with Agile methodologies 
 

Working knowledge of mobile accessibility fundamentals 

The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $120,300 to $161,300 per year and in San Francisco, CA is $128,700 to $172,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
