Product Engineering is a unified team responsible for the engineering of Disney Entertainment & ESPN digital and streaming products and platforms. This includes product engineering, media engineering, quality assurance, engineering behind personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity. 

Job Summary: 

Cloud Infrastructure is a horizontal platform team that builds internal products, 

automation, and guardrails that make it easier and safer for engineering teams to build and run on AWS. We partner with application teams across the organization to provide a cloud native perspective on architecture, infrastructure, security, and delivery. 

What You Will Do 
  • Build and maintain cloud automation and developer tooling that supports provisioning, deployment, and day 2 operations in AWS 

  • Create and evolve reusable infrastructure as code modules and patterns that teams can safely adopt 

  • Improve reliability and operability through observability, alerting, and actionable signals over noise 

  • Participate in incident response, investigations, and RCAs, then turn learnings into permanent platform improvements 

  • Partner with teams to unblock delivery by improving platform capabilities and developer experience, including documentation and paved road workflows 

Required Qualifications 
  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience 

  • 2+ years building on public cloud, preferably AWS 

  • Experience writing production quality code in at least one general purpose language such as Python, Go, Java, or TypeScript 

  • Solid fundamentals in networking and distributed systems, including VPC concepts, DNS, TLS, and service to service connectivity 

  • Hands on experience with infrastructure as code and automation workflows, Terraform preferred 

  • Understanding of CI CD concepts and how to build repeatable delivery pipelines 

  • Working knowledge of Linux and container-based workloads 

  • Ability to balance security, reliability, and delivery by proposing pragmatic solutions with clear tradeoffs 

  • Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders 

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, shifting priorities, and a fast changing environment 

Required Education 

  • BS Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent 

Nice to have, but not required 

  • AWS Certification (Associate or above). 

  • Experience with Terraform Cloud / Terraform Enterprise 

  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Spinnaker

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $117,500 to $157,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
