Assure is evolving from a web server that collects logs and metrics from printers into a comprehensive fleet management platform. As we expand its capabilities, we’re building a robust, intuitive web experience that enables users to monitor their fleet, understand device health, and take action on the data that matters most.
As a Software Engineer II on the Web Front End team, you’ll play a key role in shaping that experience. Working closely with internal users and the Assure backend team, you’ll translate user needs into thoughtful, high-quality web interfaces and bring them to life using React. You’ll have the opportunity to help define how users interact with a growing platform while building scalable, maintainable front-end solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, development, and ongoing evolution of the Assure web UI.
- Modernize the existing application by migrating legacy UI components to a scalable React-based foundation.
- Partner with internal users and stakeholders to understand workflows, gather requirements, and shape an intuitive, effective user experience.
- Design and develop rich, interactive data visualizations that provide actionable insights into print-job performance and printer fleet health.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on web front-end development.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and experience with modern web development practices.
- Professional experience building production applications with React, including component design, hooks, state management, routing, and component styling.
- Experience designing and building reusable, maintainable UI components and front-end architectures.
- Experience integrating web applications with REST APIs and collaborating with backend engineers to consume and present data.
- Experience writing and maintaining automated tests for web applications, including unit, integration, and/or component tests.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and browser fundamentals.
- Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and improving front-end application performance and reliability.
- Ability to translate user and business requirements into intuitive and effective user experiences.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with users, stakeholders, designers, and software engineers.
