Job Description:
Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Software Engineer II. Enhancing platform core services and enabling efficient data collection, processing, telemetry, delivery and visualization across our business. Contributing to the design and implementation of highly available, scalable, and performant software solutions. Building, integrating, supporting and improving data streaming services on Akamai Platform. Developing highly concurrent systems, profiling, analyzing, and optimizing CPU, memory, and I/O usage to deliver low-latency, high-throughput software solutions with above 99% completeness. Designing and developing full-stack SW from front-end UI/API to backend infrastructure, making data delivery seamless. Working on projects that focus on system security, scalability, and performance. Working with our multi-tier engineering support teams to troubleshoot complex distributed problems of our network. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere within the United States. [AG1700]

Required Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering Science, Information Systems, IT, or Telecommunications, plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. 
Must Have: Three (3) years of experience with the following: Object Oriented programming, Frontend programming, Microservices, Angular, JUnit test cases, Liferay, Spring, Spring Boot, Java, Javascript, SQL, MongoDB, NodeJS, Tomcat, AWS suite including EC2 and ECS, APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Jira, and Jenkins.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $138237-$171000 /year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
