The Opportunity

We are looking for a Software Engineer Intern to support DevOps, simulation, and testing activities for machine-control software systems. The intern will work with on-prem and lab-based environments supporting equipment with motors and sensors, contributing to development, testing, and automation workflows using Python, C#, and C++, with guidance from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and improving Bitbucket Pipelines for machine-control, simulation, and supporting software.
  • Help develop and run unit tests for control, simulation, and tooling code.
  • Support simulation environments used to model machine behavior, motors, sensors, and control logic.
  • Assist with automation of build, test, simulation, and data-processing tasks.
  • Help gather and organize data from simulations, test benches, and physical equipment.
  • Assist in debugging pipeline issues, test failures, and simulation problems.
  • Document DevOps workflows, testing processes, and simulation tools.

RequirementsBasic Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with Python for scripting or automation.
  • Proficiency with C# and/or C++.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git / Bitbucket).
  • Proficiency to work with real-world data and debug software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or a recent graduate with a Master’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Understanding of software testing concepts, including unit testing.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems or build pipelines.
  • Exposure to simulation or test environments.
  • Experience automating repetitive engineering tasks.
  • Interest in machine-control, embedded, or industrial software systems.

Benefits

Salary Range: 20 - 30 USD per hour.
