Podium Automation is an early-stage startup reimagining industrial control panel manufacturing through software-enabled design and automated fabrication. We’re building technology to create a new industrial supply chain and reduce lead times for critical electrical equipment from months to days. We are growing rapidly in NYC and are backed by a16z’s American Dynamism fund, SV Angel, and Banter Capital.

We are seeking a Software Engineer Intern who is excited to invent new technology in the built world. You will work directly with the founding software engineer, as well as the rest of our software and electrical engineers, to write the software that cuts the electrical design process from weeks down to seconds.

What You’ll Do
  • Refine and expand our novel, proprietary data model for industrial devices

  • Extract device data locked up in user manuals and datasheets

  • Productize our device database: giving electrical engineers the tools that make the design process faster and more scalable

  • Encode Podium electrical design principles and patterns into a schematic generator

We are a software-enabled hardware company, so in addition to our core tech you also have the opportunity take your software chops to other parts of the business, such as:

  • Integrating with our ECAD software to automate device modeling

  • Managing our on-premise infrastructure - ensure access is both secure and speedy

  • Integrating with the panel build process, such as task flow execution, assembly, and order management

We use Deno, Postgres, SQL Server, HTMX, Docker, Terraform, and AWS.

Required for this role
  • Are proficient with TypeScript

  • Are proficient with SQL and relational databases

  • Ability to work onsite 5 days/week at our office in Brooklyn, NY

  • Must have completed 2 years of study in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and be actively pursuing a 4-year engineering degree.
