Cambio is a software platform for world-class real estate decarbonization. We help commercial real estate owners and tenants bring their real estate portfolios to net-zero using a machine learning-driven, end-to-end real estate sustainability platform. Our mission is to take the real estate industry into the climate action era.

We are proud to be the fastest growing startup in our category, with world-class partners and investors including Y Combinator, Google, the U.S. Department of Energy, Stanford University and Fifth Wall. We are seeking team members who are passionate about building transformative products, enthusiastic about problem-solving, and excited to work at the forefront of climate and real estate technology. Join us on our mission to achieve net zero by 2050.

We're hiring a Software Engineer to accelerate the design and development of internal tooling and automation systems that directly improve the capacity, quality, and efficiency of our Customer facing teams while also creating & designing self-service feature developments. You'll partner directly with the users you're building for, ship features that run in production, and watch your work create real leverage across the business fast. This is high-impact, high-visibility work where you'll see the results of what you build in real time.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and maintain internal tools that amplify the capacity and quality of our Customer Success teams

  • Automate repetitive, manual processes across customer onboarding, account management, and reporting workflows

  • Instrument and monitor tooling performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact the team

  • Develop and maintain async task pipelines using Celery and SQS to handle high-volume, time-sensitive workflows

  • Build integrations between internal systems and third-party platforms so data flows seamlessly across the stack

  • Leverage AWS Bedrock, and Claude to identify and build AI-assisted automation opportunities that meaningfully improve CS workflows

  • Contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices using AWS CDK

Collaboration

  • Embed with the Customer Success team to scope problems, prioritize solutions, and ship iteratively

  • Collaborate with the broader engineering team on shared infrastructure, code quality, and technical standards

  • Participate in critical incident response for internal pipeline failures, owning diagnosis and resolution

What we're looking for

  • 4–5 years of software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping reliable, production-grade software

  • Proficiency in agentic software development — the ability to ship high-quality work quickly using AI agents.

  • Strong backend proficiency in Python; experience with Django REST Framework and Celery

  • Strong product instincts — you can translate a vague workflow problem into a well-scoped technical solution

  • Collaborative by default — you ask questions, share context, and build with the end user in mind

  • Comfort working across the stack — from backend APIs to frontend interfaces in Next.js and Tailwind CSS

  • Experience with AWS services (Fargate, SQS, RDS/PostgreSQL, Redis, CDK)

  • Familiarity with Retool or similar internal tooling platforms

Our Tech Stack:

  • Infra: AWS, Fargate, Redis, PostgreSQL, SQS, CDK, Github, retool

  • Backend: Django REST framework, Celery

  • Frontend: Next.js, Tailwind css

  • LLM: AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Claude

Logistics:

  • Work Authorization: Authorization to work in the United States or Canada is required.

    • Must be authorized to travel to the US

  • Location: This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days of in-person collaboration per week from our SF or NYC office

  • Compensation: The range for this role is 150-1800k base salary in addition to equity, flexible PTO, and private health insurance

Interview Process:

  1. Initial call with Recruiter

  2. Tech Deep dive with Hiring Manager (CTO)

  3. Coding and systems design exercise

  4. Final round with CEO
