About the role

Transcend is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Engineer to build software that helps companies tackle tough privacy challenges. In addition to working on the core Transcend application, you will contribute to new products and initiatives such as:

• Workflows: At the heart of Transcend is a large library of integrations into different data systems which allow us to automate privacy and data management tasks. Workflows is the engine that orchestrates these integrations, which allows our customers to reach into all of these systems to seamlessly coordinate both internal requests and requests from their customers.
• Consent Management: A tool to collect & enforce user consent. Think of this tool as a firewall running on your browser to selectively block or allow data to be sent out to backend servers.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with product managers and designers to build business-critical features. You will think critically about the implications of what you’re building, and how it relates to the overarching privacy goals of our customers. 
• Ship production-ready code. You will know what tests to write, what to log, what metrics to capture, what alerts to set up.
• Work across the stack to deliver features: Typescript, React, GraphQL, Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS
• Proactively fix production and development issues. Use these experiences to accelerate your growth as an engineer.

Who you are

• You have less than 2 years of experience in software engineering.
• You take charge of your own professional and technical learnings. You know when to ask for help, and when to try to solve a problem on your own. You strike a good balance between learning how something works deeply and getting a task done. You actively seek feedback from others to improve your own work.
• You’re able to identify trade-offs and take them into consideration when making decisions. You care about business impact and prioritize projects accordingly. You’re not just going after the latest cool tech – you understand the balance between craft, speed, and the bottom line.
• You are effective at async and online methods of communication. Our team is remote, so the ability to clearly and thoughtfully communicate despite the space and time barriers is very important.
• You are excited to grow your engineering knowledge and abilities. Our team strongly values professional growth, and places a large emphasis on growing our engineers both technically and non-technically through mentorship, continuous feedback, and opportunities to demonstrate your growth.

For this role, the estimated annual total salary ranges are below. The actual annual salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.

The listed range below is a guideline, and the annual total salary range for this role may be modified. Transcend offers attractive health benefits, equity, and perks in addition to cash compensation.
